Not quite so. Since the X Type was 4wd and Ford based various parts for the Jag' fit the Mondeo.
I hadn't thought of that! I know the actual 4x4 bits were developed years apart and the Jag and Mondeo transfer box, gearbox, diff etc are all completely incompatible with each other, but the other bits like sensors etc may well fit. I'll look into that, thanks!Liquid Tuna said:

Mine was a saloon, and had been in the family since six months old when my grandad bought it as an ex-Ford car. He then had it until 2007, when he wanted rid to buy a new diesel Mk3, so despite only being 15 I paid him the princely sum of £300 for it. It was alternately resting on the driveway and being used by my mum for the two years until I passed my test, and you can imagine how great it felt to finally get out on the road in it!
Unfortunately, not long afterwards I made a slight misjudgement on a blind, wet left-hander just as a girl in a Clio was cutting it coming the other way. Airbags still worked, so all that safety bumph that these cars were first advertised with must have had something behind it! The car was sadly well beyond reasonable saving, and had to be scrapped at 70,000 miles. Was a lovely clean example too. The attending police officer remarked how rare they were.. I reminded him that they were now a little rarer
I'll try and dig out some more photos, but I know I don't have many. A really nice, comfortable car that needed a bit of encouragement to get going, but made a nice enough noise and was generally faultless. I do miss it..

Hi, yes it's still with me!
Since last posting I've changed the grill to the correct RS one. Need to take some pics when the weather gets better and I'll post them up.

I'd like to do some work on the underside of the car now as it's 22 years old. Just needs a few bits cleaning up and undersealing, nothing major, just cosmetic, I just need to find some time to do it.
I saw another guy in an ST200 when I was out in it last week and he waved! NEVER in a million years did I think someone would wave at another Mondeo driver
