Are you going to chase them for money?
That really is appalling. It's easy to make mistakes, but that's why you pay 'experts' to mitigate that risk.
There is no point, he is too difficult to deal with. I will just have to cut it all out and move on. That really is appalling. It's easy to make mistakes, but that's why you pay 'experts' to mitigate that risk.

Probably the healthiest approach in the long run. I applaud how sanguine you are about it. alfa-alex said:
I’d be interested to see what cost they come back with, if they haven’t done one before then there’s a lot of research and drawing time required before you get anywhere near printing or fitting the vinyl
They have said around £1300 which seems good to me. Warranty on their work, 3m warranty too. Caddyshack said:
I have sent this pic and a few others off to a wrapping company who seem to be able to do a complete wrap including the rally decals.

Is it worth scrapping this car/shell and starting again? More work but you're going to end up with less of a patchwork quilt of welds, metal and solder.
I don't think it will end up like that...only the bits in the rear that I have had to do. The car means a lot to me personally and there is a lot of work getting the floor etc right along with getting the body kit right etc. If I did not have the car and the attachment / starting again then I would get a new shell and start with a rear engine and copy the T16 more closely....I think.
The car will be right when it is finished and should look perfect by the time the bodyshop bit is done with.

Many of these deals are done with a handshake or involve some cash and as such the contractual side can slip despite texts and whatsapp conversations to support this....it is often the luck of the draw as to how well the business looks after the customer....sadly.
I can certainly see why some people pay the likes of Alfaholics £300k for a proper build or Retro-power etc..

- and again, the individual is highly regarded in the industry, so what was thought of as being a safe pair of hands, turned out to be nothing of the sort.
One thing I've learned that if I ever do it myself, is that I won't be doing what my mate did and pay a substantial chunk up front, in good faith.

Sorry if I came across in any odd way, I know you weren’t having a go.
I made the mistake of paying a bit up
Front and then when asked “as a favour”
To pay in full to assist cash flow I did so to help speed up
The process of my car….the opposite happened and I was silly to trust another person on the basis of how I would have repaid such a favour myself. I’m not the only one it turns out. I paid in full and a bit more in the first 8 months of a 3.5 yr wait for a partially completed shell.
We live and learn.
I am sorry your friend had to go through this as it really takes it’s toll on you as none of us want to have to turn nasty. I was very lucky that forum members drove 4 hours each way to make sure the collection was made to go smoothly as it had been suggested it would have been different.

The 205 shell is known to be small, add in a 4x4 tunnel and floor space gets pretty tight. I had to cut the harness bar out as was too low and blocked the seat but the boxes on the feet of the cage seemed huge, they stopped the seat runners at the back and the front blocked a straight run to the pedal. My ankle also caught the corner of the box which would make a mess of my ankle in a shunt.
I did not know if there was some floor strength added in the boxes so I asked Mr Angry the grinder to have a little look inside knowing I could always weld it back in.
I drew on the offending bits.
That looks better for my ankle.
Nothing in the boxes at all.
Just need to box in the holes with some decent thickness steel after sealing them inside with epoxy and then anti corrosion wax.

I am going to run 2 options. 1) will be a 3 point retractable harness 2) will be a 4 point clip in for more serious work.
Harnesses can be a pain on the road and a barrier to using the car so the retractable ones will make it easier for when I just want to jump in and go.
