I still have this, it's at BMW at the moment, it's been there about a week. The start button has been playing silly buggers, and the sunroof wouldn't close flush.

They can't get the start button fault to occur, and they thought they'd fixed the roof, then it broke again, so they rang the motherland and are fitting a new panoramic roof cassette.

Other than that it's quite good still

Are you paying for the new roof cassette? As they're big money!

Hell no, it's under the extended warranty, word on the street is it's a £3500 job!

If it was me I'd just lash some perspex in like the track car (not really)

Well I got her back just before Christmas, new sunroof that closes flush, which is nice.

BMW were unable to recreate the issue with the start button. The first time I tried to start it after I got it home, it started on the 3rd press, but it's been fine since, I called them straight away and told them, they told me to evidence gather if it does it again and they will open a technical case with Germany.

Coopers Sunderland were superb again, it came back gleaming, however it was left with a range of -- miles.

£250 excess was all I paid, will be back to them in the new year for a service and some rear tyres as they said they'd price match anywhere on them.

Such an epic car, wouldn't fancy stumping up for a sunroof motor out of warranty!

Glad to hear it's back with you and in rude health.

Had mine serviced (the big one - including a schedule on the sunroof cassette, which has its own specific grease) at lloyds after price checking against coopers and stratstone, after you said in one of your previous posts to check coopers out.

First shot from them was £600 more expensive, then when I told then I had cheaper quote from lloyds came down £100!!! - wouldn't go any lower. It's not if I'm not a previous customer either- i bought my sons 1 series from there earlier in the year.

Don't understand the huge disparity in the pricing policies, just goes to show the need to shop around.

I think they use a tombola for their prices

Hi. They are lovely cars and I toyed with changing the E63 for one about three years ago. If you haven't bought it yet, do bear in mind that the boot space is quite a lot smaller than the E63 so the AMG gives you a car that is just as awesome but more practical.

If you have bought it, enjoy (and buy a roof box!)

Okay, service time, just ticked over 73,000 miles.

It was in for fluids and filters, and a diagnostic on my washer fluid sensor that ended up costing me £33 and they didn't fit a new one, when the under tray was off *sigh*

Anyway, I supplied my own engine oil.

Engine oil & Filters £456.56 £33 of which was that investigation, all was okay apart from the front drivers tyre wearing on the inner edge, and a nice fresh screw in the lovely new supersport on the same side.

Thanks, yeah I should do the oil myself really, but I like keeping the history going on this car, for resale.

Oh and when I say filters, I mean cabin, intake, etc, along with the oil filter.

BMW charge something daft for the oil and it's 9L so I just buy 20L a time from Opie, I appear to use 10 a year under normal driving, and 10 come service time.

9 litres of oil, bloody hell! Particularly at BMW main dealer prices. You did well to provide your own.

Do they get grumpy about you bringing your own along?

Nope, the dealer I use are fine with it.
If you think the markup on the oil is bad, they charge something like £100 for a £20 cabin filter!

I think it's 9.3 if you want to get nerdy, as above they always seem to be okay with me supplying oil.

Shy bairns get nowt, well, apart from ripped off for filters

Well I said goodbye to the M5 last week, owned it just over 2 years, and it shat itself a bit before I traded it in.

It needed a throttle body replaced, 2 days before I traded it in.

Anyhoo, I've bought a CTR
