Got it done at AKS. It's definitely DIY-able, but it's a pain and a longish process to actually clean the ports/valves by hand.

New tyres. Tried something a bit different. Managed to get 4 of these @ 90 quid each, which was a no brainer.

Yeah ad08R. Seem good so far, except the fronts have cause some vibrations at 10 leptons. Think they need rebalancing.

Nothing new to report. Im changing the cam chain next week, so thats a fairly big job.

Few pics from PHSS

The AD08R tyres are incredible in the dry. They have fantastic feel too, they really help make the steering more direct.

This looks so good, a mk5 golf with xenons looks fresh even now. A bit of a timeless shape I think
Cheers Nick... I am obviously biased, but I agree. I think these mk5s will still look good in 10-20 years time.

A bit of progress.

Pads were f*cked.... not good. Brembo HP Sport

Not much room to get the wrench in (yes I know you shouldnt use a torque wrench to undo bolts)

All bled fully and tested. Nice firm pedal :-)

VW Caddy MK3 rear brake calipers in the process.....

The OEM GTI ones are 37mm piston, the caddy are 40mm so offer an increase in clamping force, but enables me to keep the OEM discs and pads.

They are direct fit, with the exception of swapping over the handbrake and brakehose bracket over.

Those calipers look very similar to my RS3 brembos. Do you know if they're the same?
I know that mine are also the same as evo X brembos as that's what I get pads for as there is more choice plus no VAG tax
Yep they are the same. DB9. TTRS RS3. I think the vantage uses these on the rear too.

Wheel refub....

and....

Cadwell today.... It surprise be how brutal Cadwell is on the car. If you think your car handles and stops well... then Cadwell will tell you otherwise.

Gotta have some nice relaxing music on around the track :-)

More pics to come...

Thanks. To be honest a steering wheel re-trim has been on the cards for a year or so, perforated leather and alcantara.

It really is a do-all car and yesterday proved that.

Think I probably need some better rear brakes.... Managed to get them a bit hot at Cadwell. Spent today just strippint them down and checking them, just for safety sake. Removed the dust shields too as they were corroded.

Need to change the fluid and just give the fronts a check too...
