I went for reyland discs this time as the AP ones are around £450 a pair, these were £300. Just waiting on mounting hardware now

Well that's one side done, took me 5 hours.

Spaceer was on solid so had to use some percussive maintainance on it. Had to drill the disc retaining screw out. Caliper bolts were very very hard to get out and the heads are a bit f*cked so new ones on order one of the disc bolts was seized.

Ball joint was actually quite easy, just had to use a jack to push the tapers together so I could tighten the top bolt.

Otherside to tackle tomorrow. I bet it's all seized up

Disc is kind of on the wrong side, but the internal vanes are straight so it doesn't matter. I will probably swap them over once I have done the other side.

Old pads were totally f*cked. Down to the backing plate on the inside pad. Disc was on 28.5mm so way past the 30.5mm minimum thickness.

First impressions on the Mintex m1155 pads is that they have way better initial bite than the previous project mu h16 pads which always seemed to need a hair amount of heat in them before they really worked properly.

I was a bit concerned that the reyland rotors are not balanced like the ap racing ones and they might behave like a badly balanced tyre, however it doesn't seem to make any difference up to 100mph so that is a relief.

I picked up a hole in my condenser so I had to get a new unit and hope that I could replace it. It's a pig of a job as the front end has to be totally dismantled. I only had one screw snap which isn't so bad on a 15 year old car.
