I would probably use 0280155868 of the choice of those two.

Better still Bosch 0 280 158 116. 347cc/min split spray pattern.

Wow that was quick! It sounds like your enthusiasm has returned, 3rd time lucky and all that... The drive up to Warrington to see Wayne should well be worth it smile

On the injectors, will Deka's not fit? I swapped out the stock 'green giant' Bosch injectors for the Seimens Deka 630cc injectors on my 951 and so far they've been great. Just make sure you buy genuine ones if you go for them as there's a lot of fakes around.

640cc is too large for an engine running batch fire (twice per cycle) injection. The pulse width at idle will be too short to get accurate fueling.

If a stock Sport Evo with 235hp uses 300cc and is below 80% duty, an engine with 260-270hp should be fine with 350cc or so. If it gets tight on duty cycle, there is the option of increasing fuel pressure a little.

I've opted for these for now (mainly due to getting a deal on price and quick delivery) although may change a little further down the line. I bought them from Swindon Powertrain to be sure of getting genuine Bosch items.

Ordered 10w60 Champion Redline semi-synthetic oil from Opie.

Did they supply injector dead time info?

No, although I don't know what that is anyway. Should I ask?

The injector dead time it the time between the ECU switches the injector on/off and the injector flow starting/stopping. The ECU needs to be programmed with the injector dead time. If not, fuelling will never be correct except for the conditions present when it was tuned.

You should ask for them, but I suspect they won't know what they are.

Extended baffle arrived so just need to clean up the OE sump and fit them. I'll probably put a few road miles on the engine first though, so I can use swapping sump as an opportunity to inspect the bearings.

Hopefully I'll have a date for visit to Wayne soon.

That is the one. The format presented is from Ford and not the easiest to understand. Wayne should be good with it though.

Great - thanks.

Well I've just spent half an hour with a bucket of water and a bottle of washing up liquid and the OE sump is finally clean. I'll probably try and have it blasted somewhere locally though anyway.

Looking at the horizontal baffle, it's suggested that it is sandwiched between 2 gaskets when fitting but would it be better to have it welded in place?

Put it in the dishwasher when the wife isn't looking. Comes up great!

Use Loctite 518 or similar with no gasket for the sump.

Before.

After.

I actually ran it through twice and was surprised at just how well it came out. I just need to change the vertical baffle. smile

Is there any trick to fitting the rubber flap?

Turned out well!

I would think a bit of oil on the flap would help the lug go through the slot if that's your issue.

Bit of grease/ oil on as suggested and push it through from the back with something relatively thin but blunt so it wont go into the rubber. Dish washer has worked well there!

Sit it is boiling water to soften it. Apply oil, push the tab through then pull the tab from the other side using some pliers. Make sure you put it in the right side of the baffle.

Told you the dishwasher works a charm!!
