Cheers man
Thought have a go at carbon skinning the air scoop in the same weave as the airbox and I've made sure that the weave is running the same way as the airbox as well!
1st coat of epoxy
Left it for 3 hours to go tacky and gave it a second coat
Gave it a few days trimmed it up and cut the end off where it meets the original airbox like the CSL air scoop has and flattened it down
Last coat of epoxy , I'll leave this to cure flat it and spray with 2k clear
Should look good....hopefully

Well thought I'd have a go at doing some carbon in a vacuum bag, decided to do the engine cover , same weave same direction as the other 2 bits, only hard bit was putting abit of cloth inside all the bolt holes and then trimming and making it flush with top so I could lay the final layer of carbon fibre ontop just so it looks carbon fibre inside the bolt holes
Whack some resin all over
Peel ply sheet on top of resin, then release film then breather sheet then into the vacuum bag and and the life sucked out of it
With putting the release film between the peel ply and breather sheet the peel ply peeled off pretty easy
Turned out good!
Trimmed up
Sand resin then some 2k clear

Obscene, cheers man and get the box fitted it's well worth it !!!
Darreni , i think it's a 3m 6800, it's full face mask with filters , not air fed and the 2k clear I use is in a can , from eBay pro XL or pro max I think, you push the bottom in to activate the can , I do have a compressor and spray guns but it's just hassle setting it up and mixing some clear to do small parts.
Last coat of epoxy before I sand it with 800 grit and clear coat it
This is the bit where I ment I stuck some cloth in the bolt holes , could of left them black but meh
And got carried away and vacuumed the xenon ballast cover came out ok
I've bought another air scoop I'm going to try use it as a mould and try make a full carbon scoop and not just a skinned one

Cheers man but it still costs a fortune!!!! But yeh couldn't imagine paying someone to do it all.
Finished off the coil cover with 2k clear
And the xenon ballast cover as well
Going to leave them for a few days then get them fitted
Bought a emblem badge for coil cover , 50 quid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Xenon cover on
Got the engine cover fitted
Lost 3 of the chrome nuts for it there I. The garage somewhere it just needs tidying badly
The little black plastic in the door card armrest was scratched soooooo
Just a test fit needs flatting and clear coating
No more interior prices are going carbon I prefer the silver

Had a go at using the original parts as moulds
Pollen cover
It fitted fine but wasn't happy with the finish so will give it another go
The air scoop, split it into 2 and made a mould of each
Peeled them off
Original airbox peice that connects to airbox fits nicely
Need to bond the 2 together and epoxy and lacquer it!!

Getting good at this now!!!
Another one popped off the original peice I use as a mould I'm actually making this one for a M3 cutters member
Last layer of resin before it's final trim
The back peice on the right will be bonded to the air scoop when dry so it looks exactly like the original scoop
ECU box skinned as it's to hard to make this part at home as it has clips and a seal that goes around
My air scoop on the far left to replace my skinned one these weigh half the weight of the original plastic one !!
You can see the original part with filleting wax in the hole above them!
Actual mechanic stuff soon as my sump is leaking so I'm going to have to drop subframe and sort it!!

Been abit carbon mad!!
Made a mould out of fibreglass for the air scoop
Made a scoop
Bonded the back on like OEM
A bit of sanding and some 2k lacquer
Fits perfect
Then I made a mould of the pollen filter cover
Test fit
All clips fit nicely
Just needs a sand and some 2k
ECU cover ( skinned original part)
Oh and the m badge fell off the coil cover luckily it was on the under try I'll leave it off for time being because I'm going to make a mould of the coil cover soon so it's full carbon and not skinned!
Till next time....
