Have read loads of threads on those and always liked Golfs. I'm not the worlds greatest driver and I wanted something that just 'works' in most scenario's.

Its 9 months old, Tornado Red, DSG, non PP.

Picked it up yesterday and drive out to Commondale in the NY Moors. Such a blast. Its the newest thing I've ever owned and my first PCH agreement. Really happy I got one, its more than fast enough for me and it steers brilliantly. Really like the DSG, can't see me ever going back to a manual.

3 years time I trade up to an R smile For now, I'm happy. Apologies for the pics, it was night and I only had an iPhone.

Cheers

Looks great.

Don't go for an R, go for the GTI WITH PP next time and remap. The diff is better than 4WD IMO.

If I have it on a lease, I can't really fiddle with it.

Will be an R though, want to sample the 4WD.

Is it possible to lease a 9 month old car or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Interior and exterior both very smart! Enjoy smile

Looks nice. Good choice. I've recently moved into an R from an edition 30 and it's a different animal. Can't comment on the mk 7 with PP as haven't driven one but the reviews are very positive about them.

They are wonderful cars. Had a test drive in a non performance pack GTI when they first came out and my god is was such an improvement over the Mk5 GTI in terms of engine.

The interior is just so classy, esp with tartan seats! GTIs need tartan seats, fact.

Beauty smile agreed on the Tartan seats. I'd swap my leather anyday for them.

I have a DSG PP mk7 that i replaced a Mk5 R32 with earlier in the year. from inside it feels much more refined and grown up, like it very much.

FWD with the diff is still a very different driving feel to the 4wd of the R32 though.

It is a lovely place to sit inside. Everything is where I naturally expect it to be. I've heard talk about the PP kit, but this is such a good car, I'm not sure I'm missing it.

Assuming the weather holds this weekend, I may take a trip down to Hartside and see how it behaves smile

Looks spot on!

The 5 door in that shape suits it more than the older 5 door GTI's as well.

Resurrecting an old thread as the red one has gone and the wife got her choice of a brand new car.

We bought this last year during VW's unfortunate cheating phase so we were offered keyless entry and the winter pack at no extra cost. The wife specced a sunroof, the upgraded audio and deep pearl black paint. Its a manual and I have to say I hate it. As a DSG, its a fun hot hatch, as a manual, I just don't like it. Thankfully, she has to drive it.

I still have to clean it though frown. Its our first and last new car. Both of us feel uncomfortable throwing money away. Back to the 5K thread for us in the future smile

And yesterday, our faithful old steed went to a new owner. This car gave me so many fun memories, it was such a hoot to drive as a manual, I can't believe the 7 is so different.

Hate to break it to you but the freebies have been included on GTDs and GTIs since mid-late 2015. Think the dealer was being a little naughty
