Hi all,
after months (years?) of looking at Maseratis I finally took the plunge and got a lovely Grey (Grigio Alfieri) 3200gt.
In the 2 weeks since I bought it I have done over 1500 miles and it hasn't missed a beat.
They are not nearly as fearsome as the contemporary road tests would have you believe and I am hoping that my well-looked after example won't cost the earth, although I am aware of the potential financial implications.

I went for the automatic version as it removes 2 potential high cost problems; the crankshaft endfloat issue and the horrendously expensive clutches, not to mention to notchy gearchange.
So call me a big wimp, if you will, but the auto version is just fine and when kicking down, in "sport" mode, I doubt many would find it wanting.

Next up...road trip down Les Circuits des Remparts in Angouleme in September.

Is fuel cheaper in France...?

Thanks for the messages, here are some pictures.
Not sure how to attach them directly, so I've used photobucket.

Reapercushions, as far as I know the auto boxes are pretty robust, certainly a safer bet than the manual.
However it is an Australian made box and spares are quite hard to come by should anything go wrong.
It seems most 3200s came with auto boxes so there should be a reasonable supply of used spares.

Anyway, enjoy the summer seaside sun!

A cheeky one of some Italian tail-light art...

Stunning - love to have one, but horror stories on here about running costs (brake discs, pads etc) have put me off to date. need to bite the bullet really!!
