Handsome motor with a sonorous but potentially soft-centered engine bay filling... hehe

Looks good on the 18s, marginally better aesthetically when compared to the 17s, but that small gain is tempered by the expectation that the drive is likely better on the latter.

Until death, then? Any tweaks afoot or just miles, thrills, smiles and bills?

hehe

986s definitely take some beating as a package. Especially for sub £10k entry fee.

Le Croc Sportif is still tidy, if a little more melt in the wallet hehe

Coincidence alert. My sister purchased an MX-5 from a bloke just up the road from this pub. We concluded the deal in the pub.

Those 17's look lush. I've just read this through while pretending to work... I'm off to look in the classifieds for a 2.7...

So are these different widths than your previous set of 17s and what tyres have you gone for?

Plenty of full-leather door cards available on ebay usually, which is an easy swap, you can add the instrument binnacle, and then your only a dash-top away from extended leather anyway?

I'm looking out for leather door cards with no speaker holes or cubbies (as mine is a 'clubsport' Boxster :-) ) at the moment but none have come up - might have to bastardise mine with my lowers carpeted sections

What would make you buy a 986 over a 987 Boxster given you can get either one for that money? Genuine question. Is it just the looks, or do you prefer the way the 986 drives? I've never been in a 986, so don't know what they're like compared to the 987.

My first Porsche was a 986. It was and still is the best Porsche I've driven.

You better pic well. I'm dreading my first step back into one after all these years and so many different cars. Can the dream ever match the reality?
