Having noted some very exotic machinery as previously being owned by your goodself, may I ask what particular assets this Italian model had in order for it to have at one time joined your stable?

Contrifibularities Mickey,

I assume you mean other than it's environmentally friendly characteristic of self disposal via severe oxidization then reduction to brown, speckley flecks?

Well primarily, 'cos it was cheap! I was a student with a bar tab in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and Big Mal wasn't going to look kindly on non-payment just because I'd razzed oot on sommat flash like a Strada 1300 - the pennies had to be watched, man!

Tell you what, though; there's nowt like starting at the bottom. Makes you really appreciate the finer things in the (automotive) world...

Mind you, interesting that derestrictor and I both rated our early Fiats as 'six pints of Guiness'- good.

Mind you, his was an '81 model: they'd moved on some since my '73 vintage heap.

Ah Jezza, me old Cornish lobster,
'Tis but the ringing of the bell they call progress; like The Crafty Cockney's mediaeval bolts of the mid-late 70s comapred to young Deller's heat-seeking, SPRING-LOADED(!) sidewinding arras of the early '80s.
Or as Sid Widdell once proclaimed it, "Waa, technalagee!" One hundred and Eiighty!!!

But seriously, can you ever forget the turgid pull of all 60 (or 75) horses, full bore, as you clanked past a fast moving post box or skilfully piloted Chopper? Glory days.

To be honest I had no interest in why you had one really I just wanted to illicit a superbly crafted reply from you as below!

Fantastic stuff. Watch out or you'll be giving CarZee a run for his money

No, to be honest, it just stood out a country mile amongst all the other auto exotica. If I'd known you had it when a stooodent, ah well ...
