I don't think it is, it was a more narrow road I was on leading to a farm. Similar though, it's oil seed crop season so there will be a few lanes looking like this at the moment... full of weirdos parking their cars on jaunty angles Sillyhatday said:
I'll repeat myself again, but your S1 is stunning. These look ugly to me, so I'm not sure what you've done.
BTW what post processing have you done to those photos and what camera is it? If it's alright to ask

My car probably looks a bit more 'aggressive' than a normal S1 due to the geometry and spoiler. The lower ride and higher look of the rear will give it a more rake'ish look... I think that makes sense. I have heard S1's referred to a 'cute' looking, I personally think they look great... I suppose I would say that though.
My camera is a Nikon D5500 and had a 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor lens on for these pics, it usually has that lens on to be honest. Processing was done in lightroom 5. Still getting to grips with the DSLR, enjoy taking it out in the car though for opportunist shots.
The little Lotus has been having misfire problems again. The car was packed for a weekend away and decided it didn't want to come!
When started and warmed up it settled with a lumpy idle, a run down the road confirmed a splutter... yet another fg splutter
A local diagnostics specialist has singled out the cause and it's looking like one of the (not 2 years old!) ignition coils in the VVC twin set. A new set has been ordered from Elise-parts. Fingers crossed it resolves the issue!
The weekend away was saved by Mrs Tickles very reliable French car

I've never really looked at these with any awe but the side shots you've taken of this look bloody lovely. Certainly doesn't look it's age!
Thanks,They do age well, being plastic and aluminium helps, oh and replacement of the chocolate fixings chosen by Lotus! Plenty of the aftermarket replacement parts are a better design and material than OEM, a dollop of corrosion block too where dissimilar metals are in contact makes sure it will stay good for another 17 years.
The more rakish geometry and the higher spoiler make the profile look better too, IMHO anyway.
First night time run in the Elise for a couple of years. Really enjoyed it, especially with another S1 for company. Some amazing scenery towards the mountains.
Back to the oily bits; MOT time at the end of the month, got a couple of rattles but I suspect that some things have loosened up recently. Will attempt to hunt them down whilst on the ramps, no doubt they will disappear then reappear when back out in the car!
As always, a few pics from the only stop from our evening run.

What a great thread and as people have said above, how lovely these things now look.
My boss had one when I was 18 back in 1997 and I was never that taken with them, but now I suddenly feel the urge to sell my VX220 and go back to grass roots with one of these. Not sure what colour I'd have - that yellow looks stunning, too.
