Good work!

If you’re not in a rush you really can’t beat the prices and choice from Autodoc. I’ve noticed everything gets a little cheaper if you order through their phone app.

^^^Yes, phone app on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday seems to be the cheapest.

Annual service at MB Newcastle. I can't remember what it had done, the usual, plus a transmission service and various bits and bobs. Smashing little car.

Out of interest are you running it on E10?

Great shot. Bet they don't see many carb-fed cars these days.

I often think of this car, and that Christmas that you bought it. I greatly enjoyed the slight eccentricity of just dropping £2k blind but - on balance - it turned out to be a strong investment and a great purchase. One of my favourite 'cars off of the internet'. Top bombing.

It’s been cheap enough to run if not 100% reliable. Less than 30p per mile over 85,000 miles. If I remember I run it on E5 super unleaded and it runs much better for it. I fear E10 is not good for it. Twice I’ve had fuel leak problems from the pipe running between the pump and the carb.

Did I pass you in my 996 on the A69 on Thursday morning R129? If it wasn't you, your car has a great looking doppelganger!

I've been neglecting this thread and the dear old Spartan. Gave it an oil and filter and air filter service today. Merc Newcastle had used the Merc oil filter, which is st, and left it almost impossible to remove. A bit of brute force did the trick. The car is on 206,174 miles and this was its 50th service, 22 in my hands and 28 in main dealers'.

It took a nasty car park bash to the driver's door a while ago and the wheel arc on the same side has gone rusty so I ordered a new wing today in readiness for it going to the Man in the next week or two, just as soon as I get the Green Dream Machine back.

Great colour!
Any updates on your W201?

I bought my W201 last week, you may have seen my Readers cars topic about it. Really happy with it!

Would love to see an update on your one!

I’m not sure if r129sl is still on PistonHeads. It’s a much poorer place without his contributions.
