Sierra Sapphire Cosworth
Discussion
Bought my childhood dream car this week, love it to bits already.
Genuine 30k from new,it was bought new by Ken Brittain of Brodie Brittain Racing and had a few toys added by them taking it up to around 360 bhp.Not sure how many of those ponies are left these days but it's certainly lively for an old girl.
Not had a chance to take many photos yet because I've been busy learning to drive a Sierra all over again after having the Impreza for the last year.I'll update as I get it to how I want it though.

Lovely car, I have always had a soft spot for them ever since my dad got a new one in 1988.
It was the same as yours, a white 2wd one. He had his tuned by a local Ford dealer who would still maintain the Ford warranty. It didn't have a ridiculous amount of power, but could spin its wheels in the first 3 gears, and could exceed 150mph with ease, which as a teenager impressed the hell out of me!
He sold it the day I passed my driving test so I never got to drive it.

Had a white 2wd saph on a F plate about 18 yrs ago. Fantastic car, only my second car and my first rwd so it's fair to say I had a few sideways scary moments esp being in my early 20s!
It ended up with a full rebuild, new turbo, konis and poly bushed all round. Only a stage 1 on standard yellows but a very quick and capable car,for the time at least.

A stage 1 cosworth is a very capable car, they make good use of the 270 bhp
It was when a friend took me out in his RWD stage 1 model for the first time and he was a pretty handy driver slinging it sideways all over the place...needless to say I sold my XR4x4 and bought a 200sx because I needed some of this sliding fun myself! I have pretty much stuck to RWD since because of the saff cossie so it will always have a special place in my mind for sure.
