Picked up my first ever Jaguar this morning. Can't believe I've waited so long to get one, what a fantastic car!

Really do love these XF's, they look so understated and just full of class. the 3.0d in S form must be a peach too going off the stats? under 6 sec 0-60 it must really pull?

The way it accelerates is unnatural - there's some kind of wizardry at work I think.

I'm not sure if this car is cursed, or if bad luck comes in threes and now I'm out of the woods.
Day one. Took the family out for a spin, killed a bunny resulting tears from my 7 year old and dirty looks from the OH
Day 21, turbo pipe comes loose. Restricted performance all the way back to the dealer to be fixed.
Last Friday, some dozy mare reverses into the front of it, £1800 repair quote and not a scratch to her car.

Some pics after a good polish, and before the prang:

Both of the fleet...who buys black cars? They're a bh to keep clean.

Hope you've got a really good reason why it's not an SV8? laugh

Lucky fella.

I'm doing my homework at the moment with a view to buying one next spring. 3.0 D S Portfolio hopefully.

If I can knuckle down and do some overtime I should be able to have a budget of between 15 and 20 grand.

I'm hoping that the new XF due to hit the roads next winter may knock the values of the current model which should put me in a facelift model with a main dealer warranty.

Very nice, well done smile A non-supercharged 5.0 V8 wouldn't be too far off that in terms of economy though.

I had a facelifted 3.0 Portfolio S as a courtesy car for a few days last year when my XKR was in for warranty work. The 3.0D really is a cracking engine, loads of torque and indecently quick for a diesel. I'm still try to talk the wife into trading her Merc ML320 in for one of these as the family car smile

I would be quite happy with 32 MPG, I don't think I have ever had a car above 30, although the MX5 might of been.

Nice car OP, best colour combination for me too.

The old girl is still going strong. Just ticked past 120k miles a few weeks ago so I treated her to a good clean, polish and wax.

FWIW the Supercharged ones will get well into the 30's if driven gently enough but wheres the fun in that smile
