I'd love to do a tunnel run with this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad1XphQUj1QPerhaps a bit fatiguing for driving long distances.
I appreciate all the love! Took it to work today as it was the only sunny day all week, it gets a lot of attention, not a car you can pick your nose in. My favorite part of the car is probably the suspension. It is remarkably comfortable and without the jiggly ride so many sports cars suffer with. Anyway, another shot for the fellow bum lovers.
Good for you - you only live once! Such an interesting car - bound to be appreciating right?
I had a press car in same colour for a week - when it was first out it was (and still is) an absolute head turner. Drove up to Manchester in it in the daytime and everything was just getting out of my way. Thought it wonderful and respectful of the car (and then noticed that main beam was on but due to my seating position I didn't see the blue 'main beam' dash lamp it, I think)! I can just feel how you are going to enjoy it

Regarding the cost lets just say the most Ive ever paid for a car previously was £1800. This was substantially more! Its tricky to judge where values are, there are quite a lot for sale currently and some have been on sale a long time which would suggest the asking price is too high or they are mutton dressed as lamb? Parts can be very expensive, the clutch cost more than £1200, plus labour.
Those advertised on PH seem to be towards the upper end of the range.
Autotrader has a few including this red one, not sure about the wheels though; 1990 NSX manual.

I seem to recall when they were launched one of the big deals made about them was that they cost no more than a Civic to service. Is that not the case?blindswelledrat said:
I assume he has looked at a few, so I meant allowing for condition once you have seen them in the flesh.
SO is that red one in autotrader a realistic price and hence the only one that will get sold, or is it cheap because it's knackered?
There must be some issue with that red JDM import on AT. It's been for sale for months, but it's by far the most affordable manual NSX on the market. If it's straight, it's a bargain.SO is that red one in autotrader a realistic price and hence the only one that will get sold, or is it cheap because it's knackered?
JDM and auto are two big factors that hamper the sale of an NSX here, with accident damage being even worse (due partly to worries about poorly done aluminium repairs). And the NSX market has matured, so aftermarket mods tend to be a problem, not a bonus.

There is a major difference between service and parts costs. Especially when getting on a bit. Don't forget as well that the Civic will have lots of "OEM spec" parts available at a significant discount while even for the Civic Honda prices would be significantly more. I doubt LuK do a standard kit for the NSX so it would have to be Honda parts or "uprated" parts at a "performance" price point so I don't actually think £1200 is too unreasonable (even if it is 2/3rds of the highest price previously paid for a car!)I really like these.
I think that it should be expected that they may underwhelm you, if you wanted to see what one would be like modern day, test drive the new one for comparison.
Its the special feeling, the beauty of such a classic, the original, which makes it so splendidly unique.
Well done op!

Perhaps I shouldn't have quoted - I am more than aware of the difference between service items and parts. It still doesn't answer my question about service costs though.
