What are people’s opinions on the xj on Jalopnik today?

I was initially feeling negative but warmed a lot it as I scrolled down. 3500 man hours too.
Certainly an indulgence, but good on him.
Quite similar to what I am doing in many ways and in some ways less “modern”. Not a fan of the series 3 myself as it shouldn’t really have existed but if that’s his favourite and he wants it then great

Well, a sleb's put his name to Jag's latest puff-piece for their lucrative in-house retro-fondling team.

ah yes. must spend more time on ph and keep up. not. wink

I don't have any problem with Jaguar leveraging their past. everyone else does it, so they can't leave money on the table.

No it's a British Racing green one, full nut and bolt restoration at Miles Classic, they have done a superb job tbh,
Did you refit the vinyl roof? Some owners delete it. I think it sets the car apart when in standard form smile

Mine is deleted biggrin

Would look odd on an Obsidian Black car

Hopefully more pics by end of the month with the drivetrain all sorted and all the windows in etc and then off to the trimmers

My car will have the vinyl roof deleted. I did consider a coloured vinyl to match the new paint colour but it starts getting too expensive.

Yes I did. Image Wheels make a replica BBS RS split rim that I am having made in 18 inch with the spokes painted same colour as the car and modern red jag growler badges in the centre. They will be running Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetic 3 as they pair nicely with the modernised suspension. Delivery in June so just in time for it to be back from the trimmers

Nice car, really sure about the oversized steel wheels. IMO original HSE alloys would suit it better.

I don't like them tbh, Ive bought a set of 5 genuine Kent alloys and having them polished and putting the correct profile tyre on.
I know it's a personal thing but I thinks the larger profile tyre suites the car better than the low profile ones, they certainly ride nicer on the bigger profile.
