Another milestone, dash insert is done, complete with vintage switchgear and labels.
Very nice.

Is that engine turned brass or aluminium?

Ah, no corrosion smile

Use tungsten carbide bits and go slow with plenty of pressure on the drill, or it will surface harden.

Keep the pictures coming please.

Not actually your problem, old boy; simply instruct One's Valet as to destination.

more progress. I finished the body's skeleton that will form the basis of the skin. It gives a good idea of the shape (and size!). I drafted a 1/4 scale drawing of the body and pulled dimensions off it when fabricating the bulkheads etc. The big round thing on the tail will be a stop light - I found an old thirties school bus stop sign and its perfect.
Still haven't fired the engine up yet as I'm still struggling with figuring out the correct jetting for the six Weber 48IDAs. I have finally found help with this though, so it shouldn't be too long before I wake up the neighbours.

I'm a little confused, is this texas's build or chemicals?

is there any chance Texas el could start a new thread for his build? or the mods could somehow seperate these two builds?

Anybody know what happened to these 3 projects? Unfathomable to see one, let alone 3 separate projects with similar outrageous intentions - what absolute legends.

Well, I don’t know about other projects, but mine is finished. Took English wheel classes and built the body, all steel. Built the radiator shell from brass. Had to make my own tool and die set to punch out the 15” louvers in the hood. All leather upholstery. Also had to learn centering for the burled walnut dash. Still trying to get the six Webers working together properly, and now looking for another project!
