Lovely stuff. My first car was a 2.0 manual in the same colour. Loved it, esp the all red interior with orthopaedic power seat. Also a F reg but with the Sacco panels.

The diff whined too, like being followed by a motorcycle everywhere. New oil made no difference.

Edit: and my goodness, your doorcard tops haven't exploded. Miracle.

New 2.6 diff secured! Well new to me.

The Cheap The Man has also diagnosed a really noisy wheel bearing at the passenger rear.
