They're not going to if you're used to anything turbo-charged. Or for that matter anything with any kind of powerband as they are just too smooth and seamless in their power delivery. To feel fast you need a (ideally sharp) change in acceleration.

There's something about these I like, I fortunately managed to borrow one for a few days last year while my Impreza was in the garage for some work, they drive really nicely, handle brilliantly, stop well and with an exhaust sound pretty decent too. Didn't feel all that quick fto me personally but the handling more than made up for it. They're a nice place to be and an absolute bargain.

Thanks for the comments guys, I've driven/owned much faster turbocharged cars, but they are a totally different drive to the RX8. not better or worse, just different biggrin

Gave it a rinse today;

Two month update.

All is well in the rollercoaster world of Rotary engined Mazda's, the PZ is running perfectly, seems very happy on Tesco Momentum premixed with Castrol power 1, which obviously means it's all gonna go wrong soon biglaugh

3 month update: Came home from my holiday, not driven the PZ for two weeks...

Well, in typical unreliable rotary fashion it fired up first time cool

Went out for a spin to clear the cobwebs, it needs a wash now...

I've lock wired mine on.

Having lost a centre cap within the first week of owning the car, I had to do something to keep them in place - 6 years later and they are still all there. Its a bit of a pain to remove them when it comes to replacing the tyres, but I can live with that.

Remember my parents had a 231 in this colour-great in the dry, twitchy in the wet; I don't think the standard Bridgestone's did it any favours. However, it really was scalpel sharp. I loved the ability of the engine to rev and rev, how it made you as the driver work at extracting the performance and how more ability came to the fore the harder you pushed it.

Shame they part ex'ed it for a Merc CLK 220 diesel... frown

Good comments, they sum up the car well.

I don't find it twitchy in the wet, but then I don't push cars in the wet at all.

Seeing this every week is probably why they px'd it for a diesel!

Must admit, these are tremendous cars if you're prepared to put a little work in.
