I'm sorry Joe but i literally cringe at EVERYTHING that you say. What's worse is that you don't even realise how you're coming across. Even when you're being obviously trolled on here you STILL carry on.

You remind me of a young lad once upon a time on Cliosport.net who i actually knew unfortunately. He was very similar to you and was an absolute laughing stock on the forum, just like a certain someone here. Thing is he was just a teenager at the time who i believe has grown up since and realised the error of his ways. You do kinda get a pass at that age and he did eventually grow out of it.

You on the other hand...
I do honestly hope one day that you do aswell.

Thats great. Cringe away. Insult away.

The difference is this is just the Internet and I give literally no sts to what text on a screen thinks of me.

Don't really give a st what you thought if you were stood right in front of me either to be honest but hey everyone has a choice really and it's simple:

You don't like what I do or say you can fk off.....the website is pretty large with many interesting topics. You think it's funny to argue with me? Great. You are trolling me right? Whoops wrong again...;)

Just think how much interest there would have been on this thread if I just posted a bunch of pictures wink
Oh dear.

Would I like to earn money from a job related to cars? Yes of course. But who on here wouldn't?
Become an Uber driver, you've got the 5 door after all.
If he did I'm sure we'd all be told about how much better than the other Uber drivers he is.

Of course, and he could put a lot of "the one and only Uber Polo GTI VS some other car who is not aware he is being raced" videos up, and then get stroppy when people comment on it.

Yes because every driver completes several laps on trackdays warming up, cooling down and generally not going for it at all. That is the whole point of trackdays after all isn't it...to generally drive around obeying the speed limits and not trying to reach the limits of your vehicle.

If you just posted up your videos and said 'did a travkday this weekend, check it out' and didn't self commentate and analyse other cars/drivers people wouldn't jump all over you Joe...

I do trackdays, but don't usually go anywhere near the limits of myself or the car (depending what car I've got at the time), so you might well pass me. Does that prove you're faster than me? You may well be but it doesn't 'prove it'. At the points I push myself on track you'd never know as I do it when I'm in space and a safe section (I've crashed out before, it's not an enjoyable experience).

Point being, people go on these days for many different reasons and have different experiences of the track and their own car so it's hard to judge others. How many times do you see 'ring videos of Meganes outgunning GT3s etc? Does that mean a megane is better/faster than a GT3?

As for the polo itself, I'm sure it is a good 'all rounder', but like all cars they've got to suit a purpose. It suits yours, great. But wouldn't suit mine. My Abarth, for me, is a better all rounder than the polo as it ticks all my right boxes (that's what any hot hatch, or car for that matter, should do right?). Enjoy it and keep posting the videos, no need to get into an 'I'm right you're wrong' situation smile

Thanks for the balanced approach! You've obviously not been on here long wink

Whilst I agree on the whole with what you said it's only natural to want to compare with others. The way I see it is if I'm not losing sight of cars with double (or more) horsepower then I'm doing good. Of course I'm no pro driver, how could I be? I'm just fairly proud that someone like myself is able to drive at the same sort of rate as some good drivers out there. I'm happy I've reached that stage. I don't mean to shout about it like I'm the next Senna. That's honestly not my intention smile

As for the videos I've been warned with a ban if I post any more on PH so all I can suggest is to subscribe to the youtube channel "Gassed Up"

Totally get it. But if you flipped it on its head and just posted the video (if you could) I imagine you would find that you'd get lots of positive comments about the car and your driving. Then you can have a discussion about the trackday rather than an argument...

Also, people in general don't like others that look boastful/show off/are opinionated without taking other's views (not saying those are your intentions, it sometimes reads that way), re-read your post before you hit submit and see what you'd think if someone was saying that about their car (imagine it was about a fiesta st tongue out)

As for being new... look closely wink

Not trying to be condescending/telling you what to do btw, just trying to help smile

The thing is Joe, I didn't even insult you. Why don't you properly read what i wrote and try and understand where i'm coming from and try and gauge why you're getting the kind comments that you are? Then come back to me and we can have all have a proper discussion about it like adults.

It genuinely feels like i'm talking to a child here but i'm not being sarcastic at all, i'm being deadly serious. I'm actually not being a bellend for no reason believe it or not and neither is everyone else. Roystino above has explained it in the best way possible but it's clear that the way you're portraying yourself has got under people's skin.

Just for the record, you clearly do care what people think as on the bottom of page 4 you personally wrote: "Not liking the way this thread is going. Might get it deleted.". If you don't want to know and don't care then that's fine but don't then see your arse when you get comments questioning your constant self-justification.

The point is people are saying this is a flawed way of seeing it.

I took my 205GTI on a track day, and was overtaken by a Range Rover. I was taking it easy and learning the track, and trying not to break my 25 year old car, and he was sliding around in a most amusing but ultimately pretty mental way.

So is the Range Rover a better track car than the 205GTI?

Comparing yourself against other drivers who you know nothing of is meaningless. Using it as a metric for demonstrating your car is "better" or "as good as" is also meaningless.

So by all means share the videos but maybe without the commentary about how it proves how good your car is?

I feel like we're being asked to be excited and enthralled by viewing and reading what is an extremely boring car to watch and read about.

I'm sure it's nice to drive but it just offers no entertainment value to the observer.

Have you thought about talking to a therapist? It sounds like you've got some quite significant self-esteem/narcissism issues going on.

Joe, I actually like your little Polo.

But you do come across of being a bit of a clown.

Keep up the good work.

But it's like a cooking channel concentrating on making nice vanilla ice cream

Where's the attraction?
