For a 1.4 these things sound mental!

Heard another today.

Sounds a bit 80's R5 GTT or Escort RS Turbo with an aftermarket exhaust.

Only so much you can do with a turbo 4-pot

The idle sound specifically is definitely too 'sierra diesel' for me. Not my cuppa at all

For a Competizione you’re looking at 1075kg for a 695 Biposto it’s 997kg.

I have an extended test drive in a regular 595 arranged for tomorrow - starting to compile a list of cars to consider when the 1 series goes back and a 595 Compezione is pretty near the top of the list - it ticks all the boxes, too small, too expensive, too noisy, too unrefined

Got my wife a abarth comp convertible after our M135i went back after 2 years and it's a absolute hoot to drive, one of the best cars I had for years.

Go and get one before word gets out, you won't be disappointed.

Hell of a coincidence - your 595 is the spec I would want and I'd also be going from an M135i

The best thing about it the grey and the wheels were standard spec, the only extra I put on it was a 7 inch sat nav.

For anyone who is bored here’s my full session at Rockingham. It was my first trackday and only a taster session but will certainly book some track time for next year when I find time.

Cracking car OP,
So are the others that are pictured on here. Loads of Abarth love on this forum at the moment.
I haven't actually met anyone who has driven one and not been won over by its charm.

We've owned my wife's Trofeo for a month now. Just clicked over to 700 miles at the weekend.
We love it. As I've said on just about every Abarth thread on here. wink

Only gripes are the dab radio is pants. Every channel plays for a second then says "station not available".
Also it's a twitchy bugger when pushing hard on bumpy B roads. I checked the tyre pressures yesterday mind and 3 had 33 psi in and the last one (a rear) had 40psi in! That's from the dealer.

Anyway I love the monza exhaust and yellow highlights on stuff. Hate the black wheels though. A bugger to clean.
Overall though we just can't get enough of it. It's like a family pet. laugh

A great colour scheme on that! And likewise about the wheels although if you don’t clean them they look matte black! I’ll probably try and find a sealant like Gtechnic to put on them to see if that does anything.

I don’t bother with the DAB radio, I’ve been in various cars of different makes and DAB has never wowed me as it either works or not so I stick to FM or mp3’s.

Cheers, yes we just stream stuff now to be honest. First car we've had DAB in so expected more, maybe too much.
Ours had the bigger display and Apple car play so iTunes and Spotify are a doddle.

Gave my wheels a couple of coats of poor boys wheel sealant but it gradually washes off.
I used Gtecniq C4 on the plastics and it has ruined them. Milky/salty marks when dirty. Terrible stuff.
I've left a review with pictures on Amazon.

Anyway enjoy your car. Sometimes wish we'd gone for a red one. Great colour. thumbup

Great car OP ... I've had my Abarth for 2.5 years now, best fun car I've ever had

Mine started off as a bog standard manual 500C Abarth, albeit with the diamond alloys, chromed mirrors. It's white ( sorry no pics to hand).

The car has 46k on it now, but at 10k I made the following upgrades

1) Full Koni Setup
2) Full EBC brake setup, rotors and pads
3) Remap. This took the standard 135 to 180+ with 200lb/ft
4) Updated cold air flow
5) PowerMotiv custom hand built exhaust

I still love the car now, no plans to swap for anything else.

A few posters on here talking about exhausts, search PowerMotiv on youtube. I have the remote control version so can change the sound. It's a beautiful sound, even gurgling and popping at idle or low revs. It took 6 weeks from Italy but worth every penny of the 1400E it cost !

Cheers

Lovely cars OP and others, I really love these, and there are some tempting deals available for them. What are they like to live with day to day, on motorways etc? Being a 1.4 I am guessing they are fairly good on fuel?

Mine did a trip to south of spain via the Pyrenees (mainly cycle tracks) and was excellent. On the way back I did Biarritz to West London in 10 hours ...

Average mpg since 0 miles (now at 46k) is 32.2

Slight detour from your question but after 240miles of spirited driving to and from Rockingham and 20min of track time I returned 37mpg!!

I commute in mine and get a good return (although have given up working out what I get) although I’d suggest it’s high 30’s early 40’s and on a previous long run to Devon I returned 51mpg there and back.
