Not a massive update, beaten by the school run and darkness but the engine is ready to come out - ideally without the gearbox as I have to do it on my own but I know the best way to do it is as 1 unit!
So, replacement engine built (apart from manifolds) and pretty much ready to go in, just waiting for when i have a hand to get it all done.

Not got much spannering done recently, managed to get the new thermostat and housing fitted (Not that difficult) and my new water pump arrived today.
Got some of the block painted with a base coat, not sure to go black or silver with it - Maybe silver then I can find any leaks but the confident person in me says do it black and it will look better. I'll see!
Sending the nose off to be painted tomorrow so I can get that back on all shiny and may as well get the front bumper done when that comes back. (Using the paint shop we use at work so just drip feeding him stuff)
Anyway - Non-exciting pictures:

Love that blue!
I'm unsure what to do with the wheels (i'm keeping them) but they had a dull polished finish from new iirc and I want to keep that look so may get the lip painted in that finish and the centres done in Titanium like the car. I keep changing my mind and no doubt will continue too.

Not really much of an update, been tied up with one thing or another but finally the engine is out, new engine has water pump, alloy thermostat housing, new thermostat and been apinted - Found that the previous owner has managed to break off a bolt in the bell housing - engine thread so trying to get that out then attach the clutch and re-fitting is reversal of removal! (Or so they say)
Quick update:
She runs - Well, she ran for about 10 mins before the radiator gave out so new one ordered and being fitted this week now.
She (notice i'm calling her a girl now) looks a little more normal with help from Carpetsoiler.
Also, managed to get the boot open on Sunday (central locking had deadlocked itself and the battery had died, helpful) for the first time since buying her and found a lovely spare with a new Michelin Pilot SX on to match the other 4 and a clean boot floor!
So, get the rad fitted, put the front back together and enjoy driving thats the plan for this month!
Then the bodywork starts, already had the nosecone painted to go back on, next is the roof (due to rust around the screen) then the bumpers.

Bit of a monumental moment yesterday - She went back together and was driven! (On private land)!
Not much more to say, now I'm at a starting point I am going to run her about for a month or so and then start on the wheels/bodywork.
Here she is in one piece, it was also the first time that I had sat in the drivers seat as well!

I feel like I should update a little, car went in for it's MOT and passed requiring just one tyre and a bit of play in a ball joint!
I have just managed to find someone that doesn't need a remortgage to do the wheels and bolts for me so they are booked in for a week Monday to be done.
In the meantime I had it detailed by my brother in law so so far this is the result!
Can't wait to get a replacement bonnet and have the wheels done, the should transform it...
