Don't put your buckets onto the standard runners, as it will be just as high as factory.
Get either low-profile mounts, or attach them directly (with the correct bracket) to the floor.
In my ITR I had super low-profile adjustable runners - brought me down about an inch from standard (a lot) but still let me move the seat forwards/backwards when I either needed access to rear or when someone else was going to drive.
I dont care about other people driving as this is very unlikely. I dont need rear access too. I'm happy to just try some seats for now with minimal to no adjustment. This is only a car I use occasionally. I want to be lower as this is one of the main problems with the 996 being as I'm almost 6 foot 2.Get either low-profile mounts, or attach them directly (with the correct bracket) to the floor.

Do you mean smooth the front bumper?
I've not looked under the plinth.
Stupid phone!I've not looked under the plinth.
Yes you'll need to get the bumper smoothed, unscrew the plinth and there are 2 raised fixings moulded in to the bumper that the plinth screws in to. I screwed my number plate directly in to these fixings

Ok what about an actual plate then but bent slightly and no plinth?
Whats the law say - no stickers?
Mine passed it's MOT with a shorter plate and no plinth in December Whats the law say - no stickers?

MOT time for me soon. I think I have 4 weeks or something. Currently showing an Airbag light on the dash which wasn't there when I bought the car. Obviously I have a dodgy momo rip off / fake wheel with no air bag so is this an MOT failure?
Not 100% sure, but I think it is a fail.Your indy can switch the light off easily enough.
If its fitted it must work. An airbag light indicates the system is not working.
You car should fail.
Check if you ave a defeat resistor fitted - it might have fallen out. You can switch the light off easy with a £12 durametric clone from ebay. Click "993" for clearing the 996 airbag module.

Nice.
There should be a resistor inline with the fuse.
test the fuse and the resistor value? I dunno what value the resistor should be, google will tell.
You'll need durametric or clone to turn the light off afterwards. I use a £12 ebay clone - choose 993 not 996 for the airbag module on these AFAIK. I fact one of these would tell you where the fault lies... it might not be the wheel.....
