I've done some googling and I cant find the kw clubsport suspension package listed for the vanilla 996, just the gt3.

You selling the Clubsports 'cause they're too harsh ?
Is there sufficient adjustment left to raise the ride height front and rear ? As Cmoose has found out, low more often than not doesn't equal good ride. If you can raise it up an inch or more, it'll probably ride better.

KW 996 GT3 clubsport kit can be made to fit the C2 courtesy of the KW monoball top mounts that come within the kit. Fitment would also necessitate the use of the 996 GT3 ARB droplinks too.

Mine has to go down for the Ohlins but I was only planning on 10-15mm, how far down does the KW kit drop the car over stock?

Does this give you an idea. This is a standard height curb. The front part of the bumper just clears it. Any further forward and I'd have crunched it. I'm in the car today so if you want any pics or I could even pop outside with a rule...

So this is a rule measuring from the top of the wheel - estimate - to the nearest part of the arch. The rule is pressed up against the arch so there is about 5mm before the markings start. Ball park I have about 75mm [80mm is a generous estimate] from top of wheel to arch.

Top pic is front and bottom pic is rear. So the same clearance basically front and back.

These are 18 inch wheels.

Can we talk about oil pressure. I let a friend have a go in the 996 and he came back worrying me about oil pressure. He said the oil pressure rises with revs - this is expected - but then it should level off due to some release valve thing. Now he has me stressing there is a potential problem with the car. How should the pressure behave?

That sounds wrong and its the first I've ever heard of that! Mine rises along with the revs, and sits at about 1.5 bar at idle when the engines warmed up - where's yours at idle?

First time in a while tonight - no ticking noise. Engine got quite hot - not sure if it's related.
What sort of ticking noise do you have?

Mine has a 'tick' for about 10s when I 1st start it (from cold)... nothing major, just a quiet tick until the oil pressure builds... goes away if I give it a couple of quick blips to 3k... I assume mine is a tappet, but I'll ask my Indy to confirm when it's next in.
Yesterday I went out in the car and had constant ticking. I only drive about 3 or 4 miles. I then left it for an hour and went out again and constant ticking again. I tried all manner of higher revs and parking a different way round on a slope but still ticking. I was just about to lose my rag when I accidentally discovered if I turn it off for about 10 seconds and then turn it back on the ticking stops. Ok this isn't very scientific but I tried it today and it worked. I did wait till I had a bit of heat in the engine. I'm going to try this a few more times and see how I get on.

Odd... it is engine related?

Have you had your Indy have a look at it? Anything 'semi permanent' like that would worry me!

Mine does the same for a minute or so until there's some warmth in the engine. If I start it from hot/warm then no ticking. If yours is the same, it's common and is down to the oil draining from the tappets

Mine will tick for several minutes or until I have finished my journey if it is only a few minutes and for the record it annoys the F out of me.

Mine doesn't tick for long at all. If I started it up and drove to the end of my road which is 200 metres or so there would be no ticking noise. Do you know what oil is in it? Have you changed it all?

Might be worth an oil change a) to check what state the oil is in and b) to make sure it has the correct viscosity oil in there

Ok

What oil do I need to buy?

Also I want to check on the anti-freeze or do these take a specific ready mixed coolant?

I use a high grade fully synthetic 10w40 oil, from memory it's Mobil oil.

Not sure on coolant, there are 2 different ones and you shouldn't mix them. Have a google and you'll see more about it, mine was done when my water pump checked out in the summer and I can't remember which one the guys filled it with

So if I cant mix and I dont know which I have then do I need to drop the lot and start over - is that simple?
