Mine is florescent green/yellow.... I know this as my car dropped all it's coolant a few weeks ago when the water pump went pop!

The water pump just went pop on mine this Friday - red in my case.

Hows it running after a bit of hibernation ATM?

Fired up very eagerly with the battery topped up. Brakes were grinding a bit as a good layer of rust on them and my pads are pretty aggressive anyway. The gear lever is starting to feel a bit woolly around the middle so going from 2nd to 3rd. I really should get it booked in for a service somewhere.

Otherwise yes its great. I'd already forgotten how much it will turn with the slightest of wheel movements. I quickly find myself driving with one hand on the wheel and one on the knob in built up areas.

Possibly not as chilly as mine - no heater, and have to drive everywhere with both windows down to stop the interior fogging.

So the big news is the car is sliding around now without much provocation. A bit of steering angle and a bit of throttle and the back is keen to slide. I had to catch a couple of slides which was great fun.

Yeah, particularly in the mornings, when the roads are a bit cold a greasy.

I’m no drift king, but I’ve always found mine pretty nice to slide on the throttle in low grip - not snappy in any way.

Not so keen on momentum oversteer at this time of year though.

Going to the breakfast meet at the start of the month was interesting at 7am. One of the guys I was with had Cup tyres on his GT3, not sure if he was brave or stupid laugh

I cant decide if the heavier rear end should make me imagine it is more controllable in a slide or less so. All i know is the little slides I've had have been well communicated and easy to catch.

Early morning drive today at about 7:30. Car was frozen up and I had to use a few kettles to de-ice it. Found a road near the house which was still frosty and is national speed limit. I enjoyed feeling for grip. Managed to get some wheel spin in 3rd gear going in a straight line so that explains how slippy it was. I didn't try any heroics on bends but I did try some gentle weaving on the straights. The car feels like it slides as a whole rather than the back going on its own. Obviously this isn't a great test but my first opportunity in a low grip environment to have a feel of the car sliding around a bit.

I'm beginning to appreciate the throttle more. I dont know if there is anything to this cable throttle PH myth but I do appreciate the progressiveness of the throttle and the engine. From low revs it feels eager to pick up without having to go for a lower gear. It then seems to accelerate smoothly and consistently. I cant quite put my finger on why I like it but it just feels right. It could just be because it is my only manual and therefore you dont need to think about the gearbox changing down. It is also very low geared compared to my other cars. Also with the low grip today I had the chance to lift slightly or adjust the throttle when the wheels were spinning and feel for them gripping again.

Lastly no ticking from the engine today. I got it warmed up yesterday but I didn't go far. I've started giving it a good rev to 4000 immediately before I shut it off. Maybe that will do the trick.

Been using this car now exclusively for the last few days and last night that called for a motorway journey which lasted about an hour. Once over about 3000 revs my oil pressure needle was hard against the top of the dial's range. Is that normal?

Reason I ask is I thought I could smell some oil burning when I parked. This morning I've just been to the bacon and egg shop and when I got back I saw some smoke making its way out of the rear arch. So something is burning off. I cant decide if it smells like the Clutch + Brake fluid but I guess if there are no hot exhaust parts in the area of the slave cylinder its more likely to just be engine oil.

Any ideas?

Yes, entirely normal. Mine sits at ‘3’ on the gauge on hot idle dropping down to 2-2.5 on a searing hot day after a long traffic heat soak. When stone cold the gauge is pegged at full until at least 60 degrees coolant temp.

I use Millers 10w50 nano oil and the pressure holds much more consistently at high temps now.

3 at 70-80mph in sixth seems a bit low, what oil grade are you using?

Dropped the car at Neinmeister for a check over. They fitted all the tricky suspension and prepped it for track work for a previous owner. So they know the car well. Fingers crossed now...
