I read something about the air oil separator can be a source of ticking tappet problems. I still get an occasional ticking noise from mine after it has been running for a bit so not just at start up. Might do some more digging.

If it helps mines always got tappet noise on start up, and I think I can still faintly hear it after a run sometimes. It had the AOS replaced when I got my oil cooler done last year and everything seems exactly the same!

My chosen picture sharing site is down. So no random picture today. I did win some proper buckets from my chosen auction site. So I'm thinking about seat mounts again. Dont need runners. Dont want harnesses. Dont want to be drilling the floor. Want to be as low as possible and further back too.

Get a harness in - feels so much better than a seatbelt in a bucket! Use the rear seatbelt points for the harness bolts possibly, but I don’t know 911 mounting points....

Been using this every day now for the past 2 or 3 weeks. Zero problems to report. Car just works. I even treated it to a 4 pound Eastern European car wash. Ok maybe I have a couple of slow punctures and the indicators dont cancel sometimes but otherwise all good. I was toying with the idea of removing the rear wheels and trying the car with 4 fronts but I'm a bit unsure what pressures to use and I'm not sure I can remember where the locking wheel nut thing is.

Good to see it getting regular use and running fine mate, I wish I could do the same with mine but my commutes too long really!

Any roadtrips planned in the summer with it?

How's the Boxster doing too?

No trips planned. If I do go away I normally just fly. Boring I know. I'd like a road trip but on your own it feels a bit lonely. My last European road trip alone was to the South of Italy and it didnt go too well.

Just a rock flicked up from a truck tyre and maybe a bit of excess speed.

Phwoar that windscreen damage! Still looks like an adventure though.

Interesting to note (or probably not for most) that the interior light cluster on the 997 looks identical to the 996...

They're basically the same car with just a few tweaks. I think of it more as a facelift but there is a bit more to it than that. Some parts are interchangeable. Engine is the biggest. Most of the suspension arms. Even the seats are a straight swap too.

Still using this as my daily driver. Only real news is the window regulator which I recently changed seems to have given up. This is a bit disappointing as its only been on the car for about 9 months. Luckily I have jammed the window in a position which let's me open and close the door without problems. Obviously I cant go to the drive through.
