Having a Sandero myself, I completely get why you enjoy the car. There's something quite joyful about a basic car- would you agree?
I really fancied a 4wd duster, but when I went looking - there was nothing that fitted the bill locally- thus ending up with a Sandero as a compromise. How do you find it for rattles and squeaks? Also, how do you find the engine ?
The trim is a bit rattly - dealer said they couldn't hear anything but I'm not fussed any more really. Engine is fine, two criticisms being that it seems to idle a bit high when cold for no particular reason (might be part of getting it warm faster to perform better for EU6 certification but I doubt it) and being a 1600 N/A petrol it runs out of steam a bit up steep inclines on a motorway. I did have a 2.2 turbo diesel auto before this though so it's a bit of a change
Remarkably quiet when running - I sometimes need to drive through a heavily pedestrianised area to drop things off at my flat and people struggle to hear it coming.

Dacia's figures for the 1.5 diesel have it in the 60s for all the tests including City. Really! is that possible?
The Dacia figures are in no way accurate. I've had over 50 mpg in mine once over 3 years.Low to mid 40s more realistic (in the diesel).
I've had no end of problems with the alarm going off and various other annoying issues and Dacia customer service is crap.
While at first the utilitarian nature of the car appealed I'm now a bit sick of it and thinking of changing.

Sounds like a good motor you've got there!
Im like you in the fact that I'm not into all the useless gadgets and gizmos that they put in cars nowadays. Although I'd deffo miss a stereo but at least the wiring is there to be able to fit one.
How good/bad is it on petrol?
Cheers!!
Early 40s I think, I don't really pay much attention because I do bugger all miles now Im like you in the fact that I'm not into all the useless gadgets and gizmos that they put in cars nowadays. Although I'd deffo miss a stereo but at least the wiring is there to be able to fit one.

I quite like the no-frills of these, but I still don't get it. Yes, £9500 is cheap, but that same money could get you a two year old reasonably specced car with a warranty from one of the big manufacturers with hardly any miles, and if you get a Honda or a Toyota I can't imagine it'll be any less reliable than a brand new Dacia. Then you could have a stereo, DAB, cruise, bluetooth, etc. etc. for the same money, and a nicer drive.

Is the 1.6 in this similar to the one in older gen clios?
Seems was a thing to turbo them back in the day.
That would be a riot
I don't know how similar it is - I think the 110bhp unit that was in prefacelift cars was more directly related but this is the 115 chain driven unit you'd find in an entry level Juke or QuashqaiSeems was a thing to turbo them back in the day.
That would be a riot

I had no interest in buying a rental firm's cast offs - if I was interested in any of the features you list I would've bought a higher spec DusterEdited by Toaster Pilot on Tuesday 12th September 11:30
