Abarth 595 Competizione
Discussion
Introducing my Abarth 595 Competizione, Luigi (both predictable and unoriginal, I know!)
I've had it for a just over a year now, I've had a love hate relationship with it, which at the moment is love.
The car was built about 2 years ago (re-shelled) by Car SOS wizard Dave Tassell of To-Ta Classics Ltd. He's done a fanastic job with Subtle mods such as 17*8 Integrale wheels, Bilstein B14 PSS Coilovers and TMC Tuning box.
I recently fitted some TMC 1.5 deg negative camber plates to the rear, which I think it needed, it felt a lot more sure footed after. More upgrades to come.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Cool car and cracking choice of wheels.
Look forward to the updates.... and what the hate part of the relationship was. We all have it.
I think after 8 years of driving nothing but 3 series BMWs, the fiat was a bit of a letdown. That's a little unfair because its a completely different league of car, but I could not get away from the fact that the overall quality of the car was just not as good. but then i was replacing the 3 series with it, it was never going to live up to that. I got to the point where I hated it, bough another 3 series, was going to sell it. Then my wife's car broke, she drove it for a month and loved it, so I started giving it some attention again. I tracked it recently and it was a hoot. so I guess you just have to have the right expectations, is it a car for long commutes? No. Is it a toy? Yes! Look forward to the updates.... and what the hate part of the relationship was. We all have it.
That's exactly it Scott, I've had exactly the same experiences before when I've changed a BMW for a hot hatch for a bit more excitement. Then I feel like a boy racer and miss the smoothness and quality of a BM, so I get another. Then I get bored and start the process again. Never happy.
I've a massive soft spot for the Abarth 500s though. I'm sure I'll own one at some point. Enjoy.

The Abarth is a direct antithesis of anything German so can see where it takes a bit of getting used to. Love the wheels on yours but coming from BBS LM's which were a nightmare to keep clean yours look even more work!
We love our Abarth SS which sees more wheel time than the RS6 these days, to a point I think I am selling the wrong car!
How well does the car hold its own on track? It feels at times on the road a little under steery no matter if the TTC is on or off, which although barely noticeable on the road I imagine a bit frustrating on track? I believe you can get a proper mechanical LSD which is probably the way to go if it can be retrofitted onto the older A500's

You can fit a quaife for about £600 (not fitted) I have a mechanical LSD as standard on my Competizione and it's a great addition. We love our Abarth SS which sees more wheel time than the RS6 these days, to a point I think I am selling the wrong car!
