eek

Holy fk that is a bummer, i hope you manage to get your stuff back in order OP. Losing a car like that is one thing, but all your tools/facilities... that will set you back a lot.

Gutted seems to be the applicable term in every context. I'm so sorry.

I can imagine what a loss the tools are as well, I've collected mine over years, I wouldn't know where to start to build them up again. Hope the insurance process is straightforward.

Oh fek! So sorry.

Not gonna be easily replaced.

I drove Actys for a couple of years in the 80s for a courier company.

I too clicked on thread expecting to see more work done.

What happened?

What a b*stard.

One of my favourite Readers' Cars.

Obviously it's only 'things' that burnt rather than people but what an absolutely sh*t situation.

I never did say thank you for the comments. Not sure how it happened. Could have been something in one of the units, or could have been anything from kids, to people having ongoing disputes. I hope I never find out to be honest.

It's amazing what heat can do. Alloy wheels were just puddles on the floor (picture the scenes from Terminator 2) and other items such as drills etc, well, there was nothing left but some wire poking from what appeared to be mangled motors. One good thing was that we dug through all the debris and found the keys to a few cars I had stored away from the units. They must use cheaper metal these days as all mine survived, but my friends newer Mondeo keys could not be found.

Oh and I also lost my original Feu Orange air freshener and several other 'vintage' items!

It has been a while since this happened, yet I still keep thinking of things I lost.

One of the last snaps I took just before the fire, ended up being at much the same angle as the last one I took after the fire. It was taken away by the insurance company not long after.

Poor old girl...
