One spotted in the wild for ya Digby - quite local to me.
Sorry about the poor pics, will try n get some better another time.

G+G on the door is local Honda dealership.
They used these back in the day for local parts delivery, remember them coming to the Vauxhall dealer where I worked at the time.
We used a Rascal for deliveries for a while, and used to laugh when the Acty arrived to drop off parts. Would park next to our Rascal and make it look like a real big van!

This one is F reg and the owner uses it regularly - often see it running around locally.
Sure I saw another one lying around at his house which I assume is for spares.

Would be a great garage parts-getter or pit lane shuttle.

Absolutely love this. Those wheels just work for me, don't change them.

Is there any way to extract more power out of the existing engine? maybe achieve.....50bhp?!

Keep up the good work

So I walked into Wimbledon Chase this morning for a coffee and walked past this car showroom. And saw this; https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C864262

It's not an acty of course but couldn't help myself - stopped, had a chat with the owner of the business and I really liked it! Sadly I don't have the money or inclination for the conversation I'd have to have with the wife if I bought. 'You bought a miniature fire engine, what sort of muppet are you?' We need a new kitchen/car/house painting/sofas etc etc etc!! But you went a bought a effing fire engine!!'

The pump has been removed but various accessories do come with it. Apparently the tannoy is unbelievably loud and good fun and there's two sirens, a UK one and a US one.

Only done 4,000miles too! Sorry for hijacking this thread.

A sail, maybe wink

Rather than rip the thing to bits and bike engine it, I did make some enquiries about changing the final drive as believe it or not, it pulls rather well even uphill with two adults sat in the front. It would just be nice to hit 60 (ish). Apparently it can be done. We shall have to see what happens over Winter...

The chap I got my gearbox from said his old 5 speed would do 70 odd.

I can't swear to this as I only have what he says to go on, however.

I can tell you my 550cc 4 speed still gets going reasonably well. Even with two adults in it and only the 4 speed box, it still doesn't embarrass itself away from the lights etc. I'm not sure how much different the 3 cylinders are to two cylinder versions.
The later Gold Wings had a 1500cc flat six, so presumably honda sleeved it down or reduced the stroke to get 550cc?

Love this little thing!

On the subject of performance mods, how would the lump respond to a small NOS kit? obviously wont do anything for high way cruises, but seems like a quick and easy way to get some extra pep pulling away from the lights.

I honestly think a turbo or NOS would be utterly wasted on it. It's quite quick off the line and you are in fourth gear and pulling up to the top speed in absolutely no time!

Not a happy ending. It brought smiles to so many faces and ended up making mine look rather miserable...

It was at our farm unit lockup for a few days waiting on tyres from a local mobile friend and the building went up.

We have lost everything. From all the tools and ramps etc I would ever need, to a solitary socket set worth a tenner in a single night.

Friends also lost a great deal.
