Ironically, they're known as the Bukhanka, or bread loaf.

Clearly it's meant to be.

Greetings,
I have opportunity to buy UMM Alter 1993 2.5d 55kw 169000km
https://www.olx.ba/artikal/25162323/terenac-umm-4x...
Is it a good platform to build a good off roader?
I like the car.
I would definitely change the engine, swap it to bmw m51, e34, 525tds like they did it originally back in 1992 according to Wikipedia it was
2.5L 145 PS I6 Turbodiesel with intercooler
And there is YouTube link with m20

Thanks in advance for any thought of yours.

In honour of the thread resurrection.

Spotted this bright fellow in Portugal (remember travelling?) last year

UMM started first time today after a battery charge - about a year since it last ran. New exhaust brackets arrive tomorrow I hope. MOT booked.

The UMM is having an MOT on Friday. Then I will swap the steel wheels with knobbly tyres for the set of Suzuki Vitara alloy wheels with road tyres that the UMM came with, and it will be driven 170 miles or so to take up boat towing and garden clearance duties on loan to me ex wife and her partner. He recalls driving an UMM back in the 80s.

I am told that if I want to sell the UMM I should try to sell it to someone in Portugal, as they are well loved and becoming collectable there.

Anyone got a spare panel I could bodge into a tailgate? Am bidding on a Landy tailgate on eBay, but might not win it.

Sold! Fun truck, but no room for it anymore, so off it goes. It may be going to be turned into a Mad Max vehicle for use at the Road to Ruin Festival.
