Chipping in to commend you on this, erm, everything.

I’m a huge fan of your work.

(Also, well done to Mrs Jarse for not just not calling time on this nonsense, but for seemingly being a positive enabler)

I'm loving this bonkers thread. The Avantime is the icing on the cake and has always tickled my curiosity; bookmarked.

Great thread! Does the Avantime have a suitably coquettish name?

bien sûr, "Roger" pronounced rohsherrrr
Unfortunately fate and shape has taken over, was the "blue blob", now just known as "the blob" or "blobby" or "the working car" if my wife is being cruel.

As we reverse crest the Nadir of progress and the kitchen is finishing, lets dream a little:
i) the management has approved the merc estate conversion possibly in Scania launch purple.
ii) frogeye to look like this is summer and in winter a rounded full hardtop including mini windscreen
Mean while stacked headlamps have arrived with RHD lamps.

Flogging the wrong tyre size purchase on no reserve listing here.
Would look great on a Roller or similar.
Ebay listing here.

Basically they didnt fit my 1968 Merc.
My loss your gain, I paid £544 and i doubt the auction will get any where near that!

in Espace news some mark 2s parts available:

We have been fretting about crash safety and have decided to fit a roll cage in the Espace (in due course). An XC90 7 seater was discussed. Multimac might be purchased as well. New family addition imminent. Still yet to see an Espace mark 1 for sale since a i bought my heap for two grand redcard

An Avantime collector recently passed away a so expect a few to come up, hardly any been for sale this year. The Avantime has had new springs, bushes, front dampers, lower arms, steering links and now rides like a dream, albeit a smidge more rolypoly on the roundabouts. Out here in the fens a good ride is essential as the quieter roads sink unevenly on the soft drained land and create severe undulations.
All purchased for reasonable money, about 250 quid plus 80 fitting. The electric roof has packed up in open position, so now riding around with polythene taped on which is bloody noisy and annoying.

Merc estate being built in Germany, not mine i hasten to add!

espaces to save or rob, have enquired after ABS and rear disks.

Avantime now sits level not hotrodded as previously.

It looks fantastic, albeit with comically small wheels by today's default automotive silhouette.

i think it is just that pic that makes the Avantime wheels look small, ive put extra high profile tyres on it and the arches are very much filled for a cruiser car. Now, important news, whilst lots of phase 2s and 3s Espaces have been for sale in the last two years since Wedgely was purchased there have been no phase 1s. UNTIL now!* Also a TSE like mine.
(*except this one the seller nabbed immediately).

Well the Mrs wants another sprog (5th) so the Avantime is on borrowed time....it was anyway given the rear seat has a special 1320 4x childseat https://www.multimac.com/p/multimac_1320_4_seater

So we are contemplating an Alphard as replacement:
