I purchased the car around 5 years ago was hoping to have it on the road in 6 months lol
when a man says he will do it it never happens lol
so much going on in life work and other commitments.

1.6 pinto had died and replaced it with a 2.0 pinto few years
replaced complete subframe with new parts
koni shocks
-1 lowring springs
poly bushed all round
new brake calipers etc etc
power steering hoses one replacement hose cost me about £80
new rear shocks
axle bushes removed and fitted new bushes

sold the cyclone wheels as they were pitted in the centres

they are going to be replaced with standard sports steels which are at the body shop now

well currently now its in primer and can see some light at the end of the tunnel still a little bit of work to do once its all painted I will be fitting it all up

attached below are pictures in no particular order, but i'l try my best

last few are of my old mk5 2 door that I had almost 10 years ago

When I was 4 years old, a Cortina was my dream car. 23 years on and seeing this image brings back some amazing nostalgic memories (although I didn't want a convertible!):

That was the dream colour as well, please say it's getting resprayed like that?

Great to see it being restored - always thought these looked like a real good quality conversion

Hi the conversions were sold by ripspeed many years ago I have the original receipt for it £129
mostly have every single bill even the order sheet for the car too
I've had so many people ask me if I would part with the conversion

as its ultimately rare will be staying on the car

thank you

My first car journey was in a mk4 cortina. Back in June 1984 on my way home from the hospital.

Similar blue I think too.

That's so nice
I got the cortina bug from my dad he had a good few back in the day and I loved them at the time I didn't realise they did the Mk4 or mk5 in 2 door let alone a convertible

So this one came up and I thought better to grab it

My 1st car was a Mk4 Cortina - a 1.3l but I swapped the engine for a 1.6 (for no other reason than the 1.3 seized on the M63) and the black vinyl interior for some gold velour seats out of a Ghia. Classylaugh

Sadly, CJA 488T is no more and went to the crusher in 1992.

MOT expired 2010 ,it's either scrap or parked up rusting slowly.

The guy who bought the car off me said he was going to keep it for a very long time it was hard times and I had to let it go the shell was mint and the car was very clean. It went Essex way most probably parked up. Or he’s doing it ground up To his spec.
