Well, the time for yellow wheels has run its course. A good idea at the the time and don't regret trying them, however, when you start feeling you ought to be wearing big shoes and a red nose it's time for them to go so the silver wheels are back on.

The yellows will be re-done in Porsche Seal Grey. It's a big enough difference from the silver but remains subtle. The car shouts at you enough and it doesn't need help from yellow wheels!

Silvers are much more understated..

For some strange reason I can only post one pic per post.

This car now lives overseas but this is the colour the yellow wheels will end up in.

There is another change coming next week, the fogs will be disappearing. Seeing as the car is becoming a V6 Trophy rep, the Trophy cars didn't have fog lights so, they're going!

Have a feeling I'm typing to myself here but it's a good record of what's going on for future reference biggrin

Always thought there were 2 'weak' points to the cars looks. With the car becoming a Trophy rep, appearance wise anyhow, I thought the back end around the exhaust area looked a bit soft and, after being crammed, that's now sorted. The 2nd one was the front end, Trophy cars didn't have fog lights and I felt the lights were fighting the Motorsport appearance of the car, possibly they were the only external part related to a road car. So, they've gone and they be very shortly on their way to the other side of the world.

Engine works are in the pipeline but not in the near future. They will take the car to a similar output of a Trophy car.

Had my first fault with the car yesterday, a coil pack gave up but seeing as it's the first fault I've had in the 3 years I've had it I can't really complain.

Think the front end looks more aggressive without the fogs.

There'll be major changes to the appearance behind the driver.

A polycarbonate bulkhead will go in behind the seats as the engine covers will have to disappear. Besides the engine the whole engine compartment will have a major tart up and improvement as all will be on show.

Plus a half cage will go in at the same time.

Have thought about that a fair bit, getting a V6 *** or similar

The main stumbling block for me is that the mounting plinth for the plate is moulded into the bumper so the plate will have to be the same physical size. If there were less numbers / letters to the VRN I'd still have to fill the same size plate with less detail.

Unsure how that'd look.

Not really needed to be fair.

There are some Trophy ones that sit on top of the front splitter but with being black they they aren't patently obvious in pics.

As said , the plinth for the plate should be wrapped. They missed it when it was first done but it will get sorted.

Tyres won't be going on until a week on saturday but couldn't resist the temptation to put them alongside the car to see how they looked.

I like them.

Well had the car for 3 years now and, when I bought it, it was definitely going to remain oem.

That plan lasted well. biggrin

Totally off topic...

Whats the story behind the username? smile
Many years ago I used be based at a horse racing stables owned by an Arab family I worked for. Was sat in the security office one day and needed a forum name. On the wall was a list of racehorses that were on site. Went through it and ended up with Moktabe and have used it on a few different forums over the years.

It's true.

There were usually over 400 horses on site so betting could easily become a mugs game!

Moktabe (the horse) disappeared after one season so likely didn't do overly well.

It's a brutal business.

Had an investment car once. Although I did well out of it the frustration of not really being able to use was too much.

This was was bought with the intention of using it biggrin

They were both great cars but for character, or smiles per mile, this thing leaves them way behind

Time for a little more work on the inside!

Managed to get hold of a black dash-top ( flocked ) and also coming my way are a pair of matching door cards ( flocked and nappa leather mix )

The current seats will eventually be replaced by a pair of Recaro Pole Positions in Leather / Alcantara. Well aware that aftermarket Recaros are fake leather and fake alcantara but had some in a previous car and they were great.

Major works are planned for the bit sat in the back of the car but that's a different story for another day biggrin
