Soon to be new addition, it's currently at the painters biggrin

My idea behind it is that from the window line down, the thing looks mad, window line up, it's a Clio. So a rep Trophy spoiler might make the roof line match the rest of the car. Secured by fixing into existing holes so easy to remove if not.

Have been trying to source a set of PH2 wheels that aren't a horrendous price but failing spectacularly! Might just try going down the spacer route instead, nothing too big, maybe 10mm rear and 15mm front to see how it sits.

I reckon a set of those would cost more than the car did biggrin

Fancied a set of the Cromadora Magnesium wheels that were made for the original Clio V6 Trophy racers, the only thing I don't fancy is the price. Although extremely rare ( read expensive ) I can't justify paying the £3,000 that a set are being advertised for.

Have been looking at changing seats,

All the interior is either blue or grey meaning I think black ones may look a bit iffy. Have black floor mats and even the colour on those does look right.

So, currently thinking of these, will decide over the next couple of weeks. Great seats as had them in a R53 GP, just need to convince myself on the colour although 99% there biggrin

Just unsure if I have the kahoonies to go for the colour.

You're right the black Trendlines were period perfect for the black interiors of the 182 and V6 255 but not for a V6 phase 1 like yours. The safer choice would be some silver /grey ones which would not only match part of the interior plastics but also the exterior. However this is a bonkers car so although the Blue ones seem a bit bright maybe they fit the character too so either would look great.
Appreciate your input mate,

The only colours available in the PP without the black bolsters etc are red or blue.

The ideal situation would be to find a virtually wrecked pair, pick them up for a pittance then get them refurbed with navy leather bolster area with grey alcantara inserts.

Going to almost impossible to find some though!

The more I look at the blue, the more I'm thinking I don't have the cahoonies biggrin, I think it'd end up looking like I'd crashed into Halfords and landed in the seat dept.

So, trawling around earlier and found out that Cobra do an Imola seat in grey, has a few wear protectors in black but I could live with that.

Mailed Cobra to see if they could do a pair in dark blue, if you don't ask etc, etc.

Linky to seat pics, USA site but the only one I could find with decent pics, pics are copyright so can't download hence link.

Anyone had Cobra Imolas?

Appointment booked with GSM in Notts for Wednesday.

They have a multitude of seats to choose from. Have taken a few "sensible pills" since looking at the bright blue Recaros, the blue is waaay too bright.

Leaning towards one of the many classic bucket seats they have on their site, not too aggressive yet stylish. Many of them can be made in specific colours meaning I can get some sorted to match the rest of the interior, minor detail to some, major detail to me biggrin

Got the Trophy spoiler back from the painters, fitted it and it looks spot on. Matches the loony looks of the rest of the car. Unfortunately it's coming off agin Wednesday as it isn't the best colour match. Took the car down to him this morning and he said he'll sort it, no problem.

Apparently there are 4 shades of Iceberg Silver for a Renault and when putting the colour swatch thingy against the car it can look spot on..until you move along the car a little and then, with the different angle of viewing, it looks nothing like! We'll get there in the end biggrin

I like the way you're going with this OP.

Have you had any more ideas about wheels? I reckon you must be able to pick up some very light, yet interesting wheels for these little monsters?
Thanks,

Wheels? Therein lies a story biggrin

Wheels for the car aren't readily available due to the strange offsets. The originals are 17" Oz and the Ph2 ones were 18" Oz, Without checking I think they were SuperAllegerita. I could possibly get another style made to order however, I like the style as it is. Brand new set of 18" on eBay but not happy with the price of them, £2.5k, and also a set Of 18" that are in need of a refurb. Have made an offer on these but nothing was heard back so, spacers are on order.

If I paid the asking price for the used ones, paid for a refurb then added in the cost of tyres, I'd be well over £2k. I don't think it's worth the cost just to go from 17" to 18".

I rather spend the cash on seats biggrin

Did one of the EVO staff put Clio 197/200 recaros in their V6. Great seats, a few on ebay too... plus embroided with 'Renault Sport'.
A few sets of these come up for sale now and then, great seats but, wrong colour.

Had a rough quote from Loz @ LGTrimming for refurbing seats, i.e. Pole positions or Recaro CS and, to be honest, the end cost is a bit on the prohibitive side. Not being tight, I'm anything but, it's just that I retired a few years early and what goes out on the car isn't being replaced by anything.

Earlier I mentioned classic buckets, I think they'll suit the car better, the pic below is an example of what I mean. At least I'll be able to decide on Wednesday biggrin

This one has quite an aggressive depth to the sides, some are much less aggressive, this is just posted as an example.

Of course, once the seats are sorted I'll then have to replace the bus size steering wheel. Nearly all come in black so, to stay with the blue / grey colour theme, it'll need retrimming and it'll be done in a dark grey alcantara.

OP, did I see you on the A23 today?

If not there is another silver phase 1 with cup spoiler kicking about. Which is nice!
Nope, wasn't me mate.

I live in Derby and the car was in the golf club car park whilst I was out on the course seeing how many balls I could lose. Clubs fit nicely in the passenger seat.

Big day tomorrow ( for me anyhow ), I get to choose my seats biggrin

At last, seats sorted biggrin

Went to GSM and have to say, was impressed with the amount of seats to view, the service and the advice that was freely given.

Had a look at the classics selection but, not exactly a lard ass here (34 waist), couldn't get my hips into 99% of them!

Eventually narrowed the choice down to 2 one of which was the Cobra Imola Pro. As posted earlier this is available in a grey cloth material. Decided against it for reasons, firstly I thought that although a great seat it looked a bit too modern, secondly, would have looked a bit too drab in full grey and thirdly, it would have made the car look a little too trackday-ish.

So ended up going for the Cobra RSR Classic bucket seat.

This is available in a much larger range of colour and materials than the Imola Pro. It will also serve its purpose without making the car look like a track day wannabe. There are 3 shades of blue vinyl and 2 shades of grey vinyl available so in effect, I could have the shell in one colour and the seat base and back in a different colour.. The samples should be with me early next week. I then choose and GSM order the seat.

In the meantime, the only pic I have is of the black one in the showroom.

Postimage keeps dumping the pics!

If there's no activity from you for a while you are logged out. You can click upload but the pics disappear into cyberspace rather than to your album.
Cheers mate, definitely logged in and don't normally suffer problems with it.

Let's try again at posting them..

Yes, this one.
Samples of the colours arrived from Cobra and they're being ordered in Navy Blue.

Just waiting to see if the eyelets can be done, can't see why not but GSM are checking. The basket weave effect as in the pic is only available with the black vinyl.

Also ordered a steering wheel but it's only available in black suede. Trying to get an answer from a couple of trimmers re retrimming in dark grey alcantara isn't as easy as it sounds!

Heard from GSM that the eyelets can be done @ £50 per seat so they're being done. 14 to 18 days delivery then whatever time it takes to get a booking with the guy GSM use for fitting.

Had a reply fro Jack @ Royal Steering Wheels and he can do the wheel so that'll be off to him as soon as I get delivery.

It's getting there biggrin

New spoiler fitted along with front spacers,

Rears still to go on as bolts were slightly too long and were touching the hub.

Well, for someone who doesn't do patience very well......I'm patiently waiting for bits to arrive!

Seats should be along any time now and will then just need to sort out getting them fitted.

New steering wheel is currently with Jack @Royal being done in dark grey alacantara.

A new thought is appearing on the horizon.....KW V3 coilovers, just to sharpen the handling up a little.

Gelling properly with the car now, it's used as a daily so spending a fair bit of time in it. Initially scared to death of any approaching corner, especially in the wet due it's reputation of biting the unwary. Finding that if it isn't driven stupidly then it's fine, drive it like a loon when it's wet and you'll probably need a larger rear view mirror so you can see the hedge you're heading in to.

Love the thing to bits, it's mad!
