Car came back and has been in the detailers for a couple of weeks for ceramic coating to body and wheels and also for him to apply the decals.

A few detail changes on the decals....a huge nod to Scott for pulling it all together, no tyre decals as have 2 sets of Cromodoras...silver fitted with Michelins and yellow fitted with Yokos so with no tyre decals on the car I can chop and change the wheels at a whim.

Some of the old decals had some fine detail on them and keeping the edges down was becoming a pain...Telefonica for example.

Anyhow, even ifI can't use it it's nice to have it finished and home.

Well, the time for yellow wheels has run its course. A good idea at the the time and don't regret trying them, however, when you start feeling you ought to be wearing big shoes and a red nose it's time for them to go so the silver wheels are back on.

The yellows will be re-done in Porsche Seal Grey. It's a big enough difference from the silver but remains subtle. The car shouts at you enough and it doesn't need help from yellow wheels!

Silvers are much more understated..

For some strange reason I can only post one pic per post.

This car now lives overseas but this is the colour the yellow wheels will end up in.

There is another change coming next week, the fogs will be disappearing. Seeing as the car is becoming a V6 Trophy rep, the Trophy cars didn't have fog lights so, they're going!

Have a feeling I'm typing to myself here but it's a good record of what's going on for future reference biggrin

Always thought there were 2 'weak' points to the cars looks. With the car becoming a Trophy rep, appearance wise anyhow, I thought the back end around the exhaust area looked a bit soft and, after being crammed, that's now sorted. The 2nd one was the front end, Trophy cars didn't have fog lights and I felt the lights were fighting the Motorsport appearance of the car, possibly they were the only external part related to a road car. So, they've gone and they be very shortly on their way to the other side of the world.

Engine works are in the pipeline but not in the near future. They will take the car to a similar output of a Trophy car.

Had my first fault with the car yesterday, a coil pack gave up but seeing as it's the first fault I've had in the 3 years I've had it I can't really complain.

Think the front end looks more aggressive without the fogs.

Still reading every update here! Shame to see the yellow wheels go to be honest, I thought they suited the livery quite well.

If you're going for more of a trophy look externally are you considering more internal mods? I always thought it was the weakest part of the whole car visually, I know there's little you can do with a Clio interior but the R26.R always had the right balance of road/race for me.

There'll be major changes to the appearance behind the driver.

A polycarbonate bulkhead will go in behind the seats as the engine covers will have to disappear. Besides the engine the whole engine compartment will have a major tart up and improvement as all will be on show.

Plus a half cage will go in at the same time.

I’ve followed this since day one and love it.

I do think the number plate kind of lets it down though and spoils the aesthetics, would it be worth buying a “cheap” private plate for it to make it look a little cleaner?

Have thought about that a fair bit, getting a V6 *** or similar

The main stumbling block for me is that the mounting plinth for the plate is moulded into the bumper so the plate will have to be the same physical size. If there were less numbers / letters to the VRN I'd still have to fill the same size plate with less detail.

Unsure how that'd look.

Could maybe spray the empty space at either end of the plate body colour, obviously keeping the rounded corners?

Sad to see the yellow wheels gone. frown
