I got BTG Performance to do it for me, and they're fixing the passenger airbag cover too. It took them a few hours, nothing too complicated jut fiddly.

And I'm not sure what they're doing, all I know is I'm getting it back red biggrin

cool thanks for, it looks fiddly,
would be interested in what they do with the air bag covers i might have a go at mine myself when they get too bad..

you mentioned gear selection being a bit tricky, mine was when cold, 1st and second that was, i got hanger 111 to swap the transmission oil out with fresh... was a night & day difference. no more slight graunch when cold smile was about £80 if i remember.

Mine was just 2nd gear and would only happen on a down change so I sort of knew it wasn't anything other than lubricant/adjustment needed. The Lotus tech at Stoneacre had a look and lubricated it and now it's perfect biggrin

I can answer that one, as it's my day job. Essentially painting, this is pigment coated leather, dyed leather absorbs. It's making it supple whilst durable which is the specialist bit. That and colour matching.

And you are correct in the light - dark rule. Leather in many ways behaves similar to wood.

Collected these yesterday from the Furniture Clinic in Durham. They've done an amazing job.

The steering wheel also came back from Royal Steering wheels, 4mm thicker, perforated leather grips and red stitching to match the seats, I'll post a photo when it's all been fitted smile

I thought I liked the subtle brown of the original colour, but you have to say that red is going to look awesome

The turd brow interior has been fitted, as has the new steering wheel. I collect it later but here's a sneak peek from the garage who removed and refitted the interior (BTG Performance, North Shields)

What a great job. Have often discounted cars because of a grim interior trim - what sort of cost is there to something like this? It certainly looks as though it was factory spec like that.

Goodness - I now have massive interior jealousy. I would love to get all this done but I would be without the car for weeks. Maybe next winter.
Also interested in cost.

Nice upgrades OP.

Cheers chaps. Costs were:

Removal and refitting: £300
Interior dye: £700
Steering wheel retrim: £150

Wow. That seems incredible value. Would have guessed at 3 times that.

Useful to know as I can stop discounting cars in future with dog nob red or turd brown interiors. If anything, on something not new might even bring some areas of wear back to new again as a double bonus.

That's what I thought too - incredible value.

This side by side gives you an idea of the quality. If anyone wants any close ups then just let me know.

Just seen this thread for the first time and I'm glad i did. Firstly what a cracking car you have. The Evora looked a little awkward to me at first but the looks have totally grown on me and one would certainly be a contender for a spot in the garage. However, most interesting to me was the result of the leather colour change and the cost of it! Incredible job! I've just picked up a car that i'm not delighted about the leather colour (black on black) so I am very interested in what can be achieved for not an awful lot of money. Were there any limitations on what colours can be achieved from certain base colours or could you literally start with black and get white? Amazing if so. (not that i want white!)

In short, no. Going from a light colour to a dark colour is easier as they can dye the leather directly which is a different process to what they did with mine. As it was a dark colour (which was effectively) going a lighter colour they had to ‘paint’ the leather. They could do black to white quite easily using this process.

I’m delighted with the results, really delighted.
