Map has been tweaked with the Turbo Technics V4 and is now running at 2.3 bar.

Battery has been replaced with an even larger one (Duracell 80ah, 800amps) and the battery tray modified accordingly, tight fit!

JB4 removed and a dedicated water meth controller installed with digital controls/boost gauge.

Next step possibly a v5 or v6.

Amazing how stock the engine bay it looks at first glance, nice work with the hoses etc. smile

Not tempted to go with a lithium battery?

Thank god we have people like you, otherwise everyone would be driving the same dull cars. Why not submit it into a magazine?

Not done yet but very promising, almost same power and quicker spool at 2.3bar as previous turbos I had before at 2.5bar

May I suggest a lower engine/intake manifold cover to finish the bay off?

Had it on a few months ago (see photo below)! Unfortunately now it will not fit due to the hoses of the oil catch tank.

Quick 0-60 test today.

Winter tyres, full weight, slight slope and plenty of wheel spin so very promising for a very low 3 seconds with proper tyres and good tarmac (under 1 seconds for 0-20mph is easily achievable with good grip)

30-50mph in under 0.92 seconds is very fast based on my previous tests which shows that the car now has a lot of potential with the new turbo.

Amazing. What about an honest 1/4 mile on the flat?

As soon as i find a legal way to do that I will. Has to be at a track or drag strip.

For a 500bhp awd 1800 kilo car those times look consistent.

1600kg for the car plus a not so lightweight driver plus petrol and a few things in the boot and you are very close to 1800kg indeed!

Amazing performance, looks really good and I think you have got the balance just right between plain saloon without being OTT, personally would loose the TDI badge though...

May I ask what total cost is so far?

Erm... Not even sure tbh, a lot of the work was done by friends or pro bono so not bad at all

Prices decreased a lot now for stage 3 kits for this engine making it one of the easiest and cost effective ways to get a 500+ bhp car.

Bilstein B14 height adjustable coilovers installed!
Car handling much better and ride is still very smooth and compliant.
Very happy with the result.
