2004 Suzuki ignis Sport
Discussion
Few parts have turned up. Depending on how busy we are at work next week. May have to wait until after new year to fit them.
Restocked up on cleaning stuff but it's too cold to be messing washing cars. Not been washed now for probably couple of months
Got lots of little niggly jobs to do mainly to the exterior to tidy it up and make it a little different. Tidy up a couple of rough areas.
The only mechanical issue I've got left now is a heated 02 circuit sensor fault. Brings eml on every cold start. I've got two universal sensors to wire in and use existing plugs. Two reasons I've gone universal 1. O. E replacements are over £100 each 2. I'm planning decat manifold early next year and they'll get sooted up pretty quickly

While the world is busy scuttling around getting ready for tomorrow. I fitted my strut brace. The exhaust will have to wait till new year as it doesn't look like a straight fit. I don't want to bodge it on as it'll probably be joined by a custom stainless centre and a stainless decat manifold in the new year. Desperately need to wash the car it's absolutely filthy. Get it done before I'm back in work weather permitting
Well it's gone. The car was running as good as it was ever going to. I contacted a few people who had asked to be kept updated with progression/possible sale in future. I priced it strongly with no room for negotiation as I wasn't 100% on selling. Buyer came from Carlisle and was over the moon with it.
THE END!
THE END!

I'm not doing too bad budget wise the maintenance and tinkering are mainly being funded by sales of the bits already fitted to the car when bought.
It's a laugh a minute. Perfect for my commute at the min. £40 vpower fuel gets me 350miles approx, costs peanuts to tax and insure.
The only downside is maintenance a lot of items are suzuki only at great expense and minimum 5 day delivery. As a result a lot are neglected and are now being broken. I'm hoping the better ones will shoot up in value eventually as all the dogs are weeded out and broken up for parts to keep the better ones going.

I'm barely getting 230miles from a tank of standard fuel. Mine sounds like its running fine, no warning lights etc. How is there such a big difference?
Anyway great thread.
It settled down to between 300-320 in the colder months. Admittedly I don't drive my cars hard. Mine got 60 mile a day at 70mph with a little foot down here and there.
When I was buying mine alot of owners were commenting on a range of about 250 miles or so. Your about average. For comparison I've switched to a diesel fabia vrs now and never get below 600 from a tank. I'm quite a sedate driver these days

Also chuck a tank of tesco 99 or v power in. Mine seemed to get more miles per fill.
Great tip, I'll give it try next time I fill up.I'm going the other way.... Selling my 320d ED (750 miles+ per tank and £20 road) and bought an SMax 2.5 turbo. (300 miles a tank if I'm lucky and £300 road tax!). More fool me.

I'd love something petrol turbo but nudging 500 miles aweek at the minute. I take it the s max is family wagon and iggy is a bit of fun?
The Iggy is my daily. Do lots of short trips throughout the day. Not great for the long legged diesel in the BMW. The SMax will get driven infrequently when carting the family about at the weekend. Should hopefully keep the Mileage down and therefore fuel costs.
My Iggy is pretty standard, no plans to do anything drastic, just maintenance.
Loving it though, great little steer, fun, practical, easy to park etc. Just love it.
Thanks short trips wont be helping with your mileage from a tank. My commute was 90% motorway.
They look best filthy. I wanted a blue one standard with no fogs, ended up buying a silver with fogs, aftermarket wheels and coilovers.
If your not already get yourself over to the suzuki ignis sport Facebook page loads of helpful people on there and always a few being broken for bits

To my shame I've not washed it since I got it in October! They look best filthy. I wanted a blue one standard with no fogs, ended up buying a silver with fogs, aftermarket wheels and coilovers.

Might get some rally flaps and another pair (for the rear wheels) of nokian all season tyres, they grip well and look like proper rally-hooners. I'll check out the fb page. Thanks

The Ignis Sport is designed to run on 98 RON or above, there should be a sticker on the fuel flap stating this, it's also in the owners manual. It's to do with the high compression the engine uses. Runs a lot better with the proper fuel in it. KerwinRobertson said:

Quite like these, though I think I would only buy one with the front fogs - adds a certain something to their look, mini rally car esque!
Yeah i wish mind had them but its a whole replacement front bumper, plus the lamps obviously.Putting thought to getting the rally style mud flaps but £50 inc delivery is almost 10% of what I paid for the car!
