2003 Mini Cooper S with lots of power

Oh yeah, that is loud!
There's a very similar looking MCS local to me but, whilst his exhaust is fruity, it's not that loud.
Still doesn't stop Mrs PB moaning about it when he uses our close to drop his daughter at the private school behind us though. Perhaps I should play her this! :-p

The similarities!!
We bought the wife this 6 months ago....
Cooper D, absolutely love it and so does she. So I decided it was time for a track day car, I used to race (XR3's) and properly miss it so a track day car seemed the best alternative with kids and mortgages in the way. Had an R53 10 years ago and missed that noise, not really a fan of turbo's, it's that 'whine'!!
Picked up this for £1450. It's a cat d and I was worried I bought a shed on the way home. Noisy steering, shocking brakes, other weird noises. But a bit of tlc and not much money and I can't believe how much fun it is. Drives really well. This was tonight after a blast over Snake Pass!
Oh and it's got a proper noisy exhaust
How can I get the noise level checked before a trackday? I don't want to turn up at Oulton and get turned away!
Yours has got some nice mods already, the R56 brakes are a must, standard ones are shocking. I've got these ready to fit but the the bloody brake line nut is rounded off and rusted so it's going in a garage soon to get them fitted along with some braided hoses and better fluid.
Enjoy!

That looks lovely! You can use an app on your phone to check the noise but they're not that accurate sadly.
Black wrap removed from the roof, mirrors and boot spoiler. Luckily no horrors were revealed beneath. I much prefer it with the white bits. Really need to crack on and sort the bonnet, I can't stand the black scoop.
Went to a meet tonight and got a couple of pics with my proper camera.

Lovely car. I've got a very similar looking one with but a facelift model. Absolutely love it.
I also had a battery drain issue which turned out to be the power steering pump short circuiting and coming on randomly with the ignition off. As the brushes inside wear all the carbon dust shorts out the circuit board. If you get them early enough you can just strip and clean them, 2 months on I've not had any repeat occurances.

My R53 is DS/W. I didn't want Dark Silver to begin with (I wanted Indi Blue or BRG), but for some reason I think it looked quite different with the white roof. Most DS cars have Black Roofs, or rarer still, all Dark Silver. The launch photos of the R53 were DS/W, infact mine was spec'd identically to the press images at the time.
I've since added the white wheels for the full "Barry" look
Enjoy.

Like. These first-gen ones really appeal now. Thought hard about one recently, but went for a Mk5 GTI in the end. You never fancied one of those?
I have yes and they're tempting value these days as well. No doubt I'll try one eventually. Stella the proper mini has just got back from a tidy up session. I'll drop you a PM, she looks amasing!
