Cheerze. The price is a bit of a stab as Betas are oddities.

I had a few viewers, but only low offers, and may keep the car, as I like it. It's a fun drive, and very pretty.

Bummer - the main gear change bush fell to bits today, so the Beta has gone back to my place out of town behind an AA truck.

Is this the same bush that was 3D printed for you?

The one mentioned on page 5.

Yes, so my mechanic will need to try a different compound if we cannot track down an original part. I am not sure if it was heat or movement or both that caused the failure. The previous one (probably there from new) appeared to have failed through age.

Bad new OP - I hope you can get it sorted. thumbup

I can see why you aren't keen to sell - they are stunningly pretty, and drive well too with that lovely twin-cam engine!

It is a lovely looking car in the perfect colour. They're rare now so I would say keep it if you can.

I endorse the comments saying you should keep it. It's a rare, beautiful car. You owe it to your fellow PistonHeads readers!

I don't endorse the supportive comments. No echo chamber here.

It's clearly a pile of unattractive, unappealing and unwelcome ste. But I can help. For a small (ish) consideration, I can take that off your hands and save you all this aggro old bean. What say you?

I know; I'm a decent sort.

BTW the MAN 2140 plate at the front is falling off, but DVLA are taking ages to deal with my application to put the car back on its old T reg plates and pay tax on it (the car is 40 years old and will soon be tax and MOT exempt - manufactured 1978, registered early 1979)) . I could be pulled by Plod for driving around on Isle of Man plates (the car has been back on the mainland for a while now), but the car is insured and has an MoT, and thus far I have received no bother.

Island cars for island lives, eh? I am shortly to depart the UK to live on an island far away. I am already thinking of taking an old Italian bike there with me (well, shipping it there in a container) and am beginning to think crazy thoughts of shipping the Beta too. Its suspension is designed for rough 1970s Italian roads, and it is not too low slung, so the rough roads of the BVI may not trash it, but the lack of aircon and possible shortage of local expertise in fixing carburettors and the like might be challenges.
