Currently reading up on old MLs as they've piqued my interested and I bumped into this. Nice thread and thanks for taking the time.

Two years on, do you still have the car? (Are you even still on PH??)
Still here and still running the ML55. I had no idea it had been so long since I last posted in this thread. The last 2 years have been completely trouble free apart from an airbag light caused by a faulty passenger seat child seat sensor. My local garage fitted a new sensor, which involved removing the passenger seat. I also got them to fit a new crank sensor as occasionally it would not start when hot. Been absolutely fine since. My old ML experience has certainly been positive, hopefully yours is too if you decide to purchase one.

Great! Thanks for following up and very glad to hear that its been a great car for you.

Currently I am looking at both late W163s and early W164s. There seem to be more positive comments in terms of ownership experience of the later W163s. I'm getting the pictures that late 163s really did address the issues of the early versions. Of course, these are at least 16yr old now for the newest, so will come with all the issues of a running an old car.
