This is brilliant. You make the engine+gearbox drop sound it like it was a plug-and-play job....was it? How much cutting/drilling/hammering/swearing was involved? I see a few other holes around the engine mounts. Was that where the original engine mounts were?

Unless I'm mistaken, the OP bought the van with the conversion already done.

The Kangoo is based on the Clio, so the engine mounts etc are all the same. I'd imagine the struts and hubs etc will also just bolt straight up.

Whether the wiring would be as easy is a question, but from the dash etc I'd imagine it's the same modular electronics from the Clio, so once the loom was swapped most of it will fire straight up.

Brilliant project, great idea now 172/182s are so cheap to pick up as scrappers etc.

Wait a sec. This is yours?! Are you the chap I spoke to in the carpark at Bedford the day after Cadwell? Was I really that close to the hallowed PPBB collection without even realising? yikes

Yep! The trick with the loom is to recut the kangoo bulkhead to take the Clio bulkhead plug and use the Clio loom all the way back to the tail lights. This way it's just a case of modding the light connectors at each end smile

Everything else is bolt on, including the Clio clocks into the Kangoo dash!

We bought this van mostly complete but did pretty much bone it over the course of a week to finish it off properly and tidy some bits up as well as make a few additions wink

That was one of the guys who works for us that you met. Despite sprinting it at Cadwell we acquired it as a run around/little van for work...... just 70bhp isn't really us so a 172 Kangoo made a lot of sense laugh

Pop in next time, I'll show you around smile

Ahh that makes sense. I couldn't believe it when he drove over! I was pleased to have a good look around it though - I think our runs at Cadwell coincided so that we weren't really in the paddock at the same time.

Our RX8 is just going into winter hibernation (as in, we're going to attempt to make it faster in our usual half-arsed way) but if I'm ever back at Bedford I'll definitely take you up on that kind offer. Much obliged smile

Well in order to fund the Peugeot "race program" this year the Kangoo Cup is going to be for sale frown

If anyone is interested please feel free to post. It's not been used since December so it makes sense to find it a new home but needless to say it is going to be sorely missed!

This is properly awesome. I'm sure someone did a very similar thing on Cliosport.net, unless you're the person i'm thinking of?

What's the performance like compared to the Clio?
