biggrin I’m interested on your thoughts of the R32. I’ve got one myself and I love it to bits. People always criticise it for been to heavy or not fast enough but when you’ve got the windows down no other hot hatch compares.

Absolutely love the fact this thread has got back to talking about LFA’s. What would you all like to see with the LFA or want to know about what it’s like to live with?

Cheers

Pete
Please describe the driving experience, after seeing one yesterday I want to know what it is like to live with and drive.
I am currently battling some demons and find this thread uplifting.
Cheers
Graham
Ditto on the demons.

Personally I would be quite partial to a video of what the LFA sounds like in a tunnel. It's famously got that Yamaha-tuned exhaust, after all...

They tuned the intake as well as the exhaust. I can’t wait to hear it in person, the howl of a V10 is a special thing.

Definitely a tunnel run of some kind with the LFA!!! I remember coming back from the ring in my oldest friends track spec Legacy wagon we dropped the windows on it and hooned through one whilst I was on the phone to my wife, I was giggling like a kid!! So yeah for me it would be a tunnel run with your reaction to it please!!

Might be a bit late to the party, but I just had a look at that Zonda 760 you were looking at on James Edition OP. I have to say that is the nicest car I have ever seen in my life. I love the Italian Flag style seats! For anyone else here is the link (if you don't have it already) https://www.jamesedition.com/cars/pagani/zonda_f/p...smile

I had it in my head that you had a 360 Challenge Stradale as part of the collection... any reason why not? Was a poster car for me back in the day and one of the best sounding cars. They were all F1 gearboxes if I remember right though so I guess that might have something to do with it.

Another query... I'm surprised you have kept the MP4-12C after acquiring a 650S, any particular reason on that front?

Oh and one other thing, any updates on the Ferrari Challenge car you were picking up? Would love to hear more about your experience with that biggrin

Hi Graham

Sorry to hear about your demons, I hope you find some solace in the fact that I too battle demons daily (trauma). It’s nothing to be battling alone, speak about it and you might find some common ground with others.
You can always message me and I’ll be happy to talk to you and help if I can.
As far as the LFA is concerned, hmm where do I start!
It’s very wide, like extremely wide. Too low for UK roads and takes an amazing amount of concentration to drive properly. I’m forever checking my mirrors to make sure I’m as far over to the left as possible, even then it’s easy to cross over the white line.
The power is and isn’t linear, depends what gear you’re in.
It’s the most free revving engine I’ve ever had. It can go from 2k rpm to 9k rpm in less time than my brain can compute, that’s why it’s also the most tiring car I’ve ever driven.
Smashing the 812 super fast and 488 around Fiorano for 8 hours straight every day for 4 days was less tiring than just 4 hours in the LFA.

Is it a great car?
Definitely

Is it a car that I could live with everyday?
Absolutely not, I think it’d give me seizures from the amount of information the brain has to process in order to drive it properly all the time.
My 458 Aperta or 675lt are much quicker, but are also easier to drive.
I can be driving these cars and still manage to think about what I’m having for dinner or sing along to some blues, etc etc.
You can’t in the LFA, well not at first anyway. You need 100% concentration.

Would I be bothered if I never had it in my collection?
Not really, but I am glad I’ve got it.

The handling is superb, yes it’s a bit heavy on the nose and too light on the tail so it’s easy to slide, but it’s sooooo much fun.
The switchgear is very ermmmm, 1990’s Lexus. Like my father always had LS400’s when I was a child. So yeah it’s very familiar.
I’d say the nicest part about the car for me isn’t the exhaust note (which is sublime) but the paddles and indicator stalks.
They just feel like perfection.
Like how Monica Bellucci is the epitome of a sexy woman, these stalks are like the Monica of the stalk world haha. It makes sense in my head.
The seats are ridiculously comfortable, like a lazy boy chair, yet extremely supportive.
Everything on the car just works 100% and serves a purpose. Perfect Japanese engineering.

Hope this helps.
And remember to keep your chin up and keep fighting those demons.

Stay safe.

Pete

Hi Pete, spent the last couple of days reading the whole thread and watching your videos and what a pleasure it was. Don't frequent the forums that much and this may well be the first thread I've read in its entirety. A breath of fresh air you might say to see a rich guy with a great collection of cars who is so down to earth and so giving.
A massive JDM fan (owned my MR2 turbo for 13 years) so the LFA will always be the ultimate halo car for me (followed by the NSX type R, KPGC10 Skyline etc)
Would love to see videos of you using it just like you would with any of your other cars - daily duties, longer trips, maybe a track day then your likes and dislikes after using it for all the above. Would also like to see a properly geeky and thorough walk around - all the switches, buttons, dials, storage spaces basically ALL interior and exterior features.
thanks
Jay
I’ll do a video just for you Jay. It’ll probably be next week or the week after as I’m just opening a new restaurant and it’s draining my time at the moment.

Cheers

Love, love, love the car.
Yes it’s heavy because of the 80/20 power split between the wheels but it’s all worth it when you throw it into a corner and it just sticks.
The gear changes are so slick, it’s as easy as putting a warm knife through butter. Best manual gear change of any car I’ve ever had.
Oh and the noise!!!! What a noise.

Holy stballs, have I just got a new favourite car? Haha.

The Phantom is most definitely the best passenger car out there, no other compares.
I had the ghost and that didn’t even come close to the Phantom in my eyes.
I changed it for the Wraith but the ghost is most definitely the better car.
I’d never get a Phantom as it’s a car to be driven in and not one to drive, I’m no Prima Donna so it’s not my kind of thing. Great car though.

Well I just had a delve through this thread, it goes without me saying that is an incredible list of cars to own! You must surely be awarded PH legend status to accumulate such a collection.

As someone who's most expensive car purchase to date is circa £2k I find this all fairly incomprenhensible and unrelatable to be honest. It seems like you are accumulating supercars so quickly, I really hope you are able to fully enjoy them all, or several at least! Perhaps this collection is for investment purposes though I don't really understand how that can work, but good luck with it all.

Epic list as expected Pete.

Tell me, the defender, is it a ‘special’ one? Seems like the disco and rangie will do the daily stuff and any mild off roading you might encounter.

Do you have it because it’s iconic, or it’s got huge sentimental value or something? I mean it’s no supercar and not really a daily, so stands out in your collection. I sold mine and regret it to this day, so I advise you don’t part with it! hehe

I just got rid of my AMG GTS Edition 1.
It was ok, but like most Mercs nowadays they’re just a bit ‘meh’.
If I ever got the chance to buy a brabus 190E (I think it was a 3.6) then hell year I’d have another Merc in the collection.
Think I might get myself an SLS or SLR soon.

No the 360 CS deal fell through because GC Motors wanted way too much money for it. They wouldn’t even knock a grand off the price (I always want a deal haha).

I’ve also kept the 650S even though I’ve got a 675lt and a Senna (on its way). I just don’t like to sell anything unless it’s rubbish.

The 488 challenge has been put on hold whilst I sort out my Pista, it was all getting way too confusing. Ferrari was ringing me nearly everyday about what I was collecting.
I’m just trying to focus on one thing at a time. It’s still coming, just been postponed until the Pista, Lusso and Portofino are delivered. Otherwise it’s just getting silly, I wouldn’t even enjoy one car before I get the next. Voodoo economics I guess.

Thanks for replying. I was talking to a friend today about you and saying you have pretty much every car anyone would want and he said,
Ferrari ? yes several
Porches ? yes several
Mercedes ? emmm...
Anyway, stay healthy and keep on keeping on.

It was one of the last few hundred to roll off production. Yeah it’s special, spent about £62k all in.
It’s my third 90 I’ve had and I love them, I used to do lots of shooting with my syndicate but I no longer have my license so I sold my then ‘pimped up’ 90. Missed it loads so I bought another, simples really, nothing sentimental just a great car.
