This is an incredible collection, and that lfa is the icing on the cake, all well deserved!
Just a quick question, how do you keep on top of the cars servicing- wise?
I just take them to the main dealers, I couldn’t have half and half service history, it would devalue the cars (for some reason!!!).

Do you do track days dude? Would love to see some of your collection and get some pics one day.
I’m going to start tracking the 675lt, unfortunately I can’t bring everything to the track, so unless you lived nearby....

This thread has gone in a completely different way than I expected, my fault for being a cynic. If you ever get down south with any of your exotica next year (Goodwood Breakfast Club perhaps) it would be great to shake your hand and have a chat. Top work that man.
No worries, I don’t think anyone thought it was going to go this way either haha. It’s perfectly fine to be cynical, that’s just human nature. I’ll be going to Goodwood in the future. Said I’ll take my Dad for a tour of the RR factory and I promised him a ride in an actual spitfire. So I’ll be down south but it’ll just be my Wraith, something I’m sure you’ve seen hundreds of times if you’re ever down there near the factory.

Hi everyone
Sorry for the late reply. I’ve had a busy day and I’ve been inundated with the most amazing emails from all you wonderful kind hearted PH’ers. I’m honestly overwhelmed with how kind and generous people are being. I’ve read some fantastic emails of people’s volunteer work, and I’ve also been privy to some of the health issues that has troubled you guys. It can be tough dealing with a brain tumour so please feel free to contact me directly if you need or want to ask me anything. As far as the volunteer work goes I’m literally bowled over with the amount of offers PH has given me. A thousand thank yous. I’m holding a charity event at the Radison Blue Hotel in Manchester City Centre on 17/11/17 in association with the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity Dinner. As previously mentioned, I’m not after donations as I’ll be funding the entire event, however if anyone would like to come along and help entertain the wonderful children, maybe help with a bit of waitering or present the children with their presents then please drop me an email. If anyone fancies dressing up as a superhero then that’ll be fantastic too.

Many thanks

Pete

Thank you.
Here’s the flyer of our event. Got a load of premiership footballers coming too which should be good for the PR aspect of it. You know it’s bad times when you have to pull in footballers to help buy lifesaving machines for terminally sick children because there’s nothing left in the NHS.

I’ve never understood this whole detailing thing, fair enough wash them or give them a bit of polish but owning a car and not using it while it’s being polished to the nth degree? By someone else??

Top collection though, the LFA and Carrera GT are going to take some beating
I understand what you mean, it does seem a bit crazy, however you wouldn’t send an expensive rare car through the local polish and shine and not expect scratches. I get them polished to within an inch of their lives, then wrapped in film to protect the paint. That way it always looks super clean and you don’t have to worry about cleaning the car, you can just enjoy it.
Each to their own I guess, that’s just my thing.

I felt compelled to reply, as having just read through the remaining 10 pages of posts (having dismissed it soon after reading the OP), I found myself feeling like a monumental cock.

I've not read any previous posts of yours and have dwindled on my use of PH over the last couple of years. I therefore read the OP about acquiring an LFA, and whether either instantly judging, acting on extreme jealousy, or a combination of both, subconsciously called 'Troll' and went on my merry way.

I came back this evening amazed by the growth in posts, only to find myself not only completely wrong at my judgement, but also absolutely gob-smacked by just how wrong I was.

For this, not only do I feel an apology is needed, but I've also sat here for a good 20 minutes and had a serious talk with myself. Not many things do this and I find it surreal to think how much reading of both your successes and unfortunate illness has made me seriously consider my own happiness.

I think if anything, I'm thankful to have read this and grateful for you being open enough to discuss it. Thank you.
Hi Cypher
Thank you for your honest statement, it takes a lot of heart to write what I’ve just read. It’s completely understandable to think ‘troll’, to be honest I’d probably think the same so don’t dwell on it too much.
There’s no need to apologise, however I do appreciate the sentiment.
Basically I was just a normal(ish) guy before my surgery. After seeing a 4 year old girl on my ward who was just there for her ‘final’ checkup, I realised that I could never be angry with what was happening to me. I’d enjoyed a damn good 32 years by then (Dec ‘15) and if something went wrong then I’d be ok with that, it’d just have been one of life’s little bumps in the road. However that poor 4 year old girl hadn’t even properly started her life. From that time in hospital I realised that I needed to let go of all the crap in my life and be thankful for what I had, but most of all, help those less fortunate than myself. Especially sick & terminal children.
I’m just grateful to the brilliant surgeons that helped save my life, without them I wouldn’t be here today. They helped me so it’s only fair I try to pass it on. Anyway, here’s a picture of me after my surgery. Not sure about that hair style though ha.

Apologies if it has already been mentioned and I've missed it, but without going into specifics, where do you store these cars? Obviously, I appreciate you don't want to give out anything specific over a forum, but I was just wondering if it was something like a specialist company, your own warehouse, etc.

The story of the four year old girl is particularly heartbreaking. I have two daughters and since having them the death of children really gets to me, there's just so much pain involved.
I store them at my own facility.

Pete, I'm currently looking to volunteer in any way possible. So far I've only managed to do it at the National Football Museum in Manchester city centre but actively looking to help with people in need. I'd gladly come along and try and find a superhero costume whilst I'm at it to help with the event. Should I email you?

You're an inspiration, not only for having a great collection and offering to share it with people you've never met on the internet but for what you've been through and all the generosity and good work you're doing. I'd love to do my part in helping.

Yes, please email me and we’ll get something sorted out. Thank you so much for your generosity. Truly overwhelmed with everyone’s offers of volunteering.

What’s that then?
Edited to add, I meant the Porsche not the Ferrari! Never heard of one?
I think it was 1 of 13 in the UK and only 1 of 3 manuals. It might not seem like a good purchase at the moment but I reckon it’ll be like the 997 sports classic in a few years. It’s a seven speed manual, GT3 wheels, suspension and exhaust, active rear steer and lots of carbon.
It’s done a grand total of 20.8 miles and will stay that way ;-)

Hi guys
Had a busy week since getting back from Fiorano. Thank you all so much for the replies, I’ve literallt been inundated with emails with offers of help.
We did a big campaign for children in need earlier this week, with the help of a generous guy who drove around all day on a trike with a 7ft Pudsey teddy bear.
The LFA has finally been dropped off with Topaz Detailing in London and I’ve also been collecting and purchasing a few others.

I’ve also took delivery of my Flugplatz blue AMV12S, instead of the custard test, I thought I’d do the sausage dog test haha

I also bought a lovely late Reg 355 in tdf blue

And whilst I was there I was offered a low mileage 599 GTO.

What makes you want to avoid driving this particular car?
Because it’s pretty rare, low low mileage and I’ve got a GT2 RS coming next year so it’d only be replaced anyway. Might as well just stick it away and see what it does over the next few years. If it doesn’t move in price then I’ll drive it per usual. I remember passing up on a 997 ducktail brand new for about £130k, they’re now £500k. I think this might do the same, then again I could be wrong. I’ll just have to see.

Might've been asked before but do you have any pictures of your full collection together or as many as its possible to group together at any one time?
Not really all together as they are spread between my house, my storage unit and the dealerships. I’m having my house ripped apart at the moment so there’s dust everywhere. That’s why most of my cars aren’t here. Once the house work is finished then I’ll be bringing them all here for one BIG photo shoot

Hi guys
Just caught up now with the responses, sorry it’s been a busy weekend, getting everything ready for the charity event this Friday.
Thank you for all the kind comments and emails of offers of help.
I do agree greatly with a number of people on here. It’s not about what possessions you’ve got in life, but more about your quality of life.
Yes I can be nonchalant about misplacing a 250 because it’s still just a piece of metal at the end of the day, it’s not worth getting hung up about it. And I’m pretty sure it’ll turn up one day, besides that, there’s not much I could do with it at the moment as I’m busy focusing on other things at the moment.
I’ve had to get a new storage place as I’ve added a few more to the collection, so hopefully I’ll be able to get some great shots of my cars all together, well as soon as they get back from the Detailers. The LFA is at Topaz if there’s anyone nearby and you want to pop in to see it.
There should be a 458 Speciale being added next to the Aperta and GTO this week to make for some interesting line ups. I’m just in talks with the owner now trying to negotiate a fair price. Here are some pictures to keep you guys still interested :-)

Posted in here before the real story was rolled out with what you do for charity and what not and i've been particularly moved by your words and actions a couple of times since! Again, im happy you've recovered from your ordeal so well.

I've never really experienced terminal illnesses so close to home until the last couple of years and was probably in the 'it wont happen to me' camp (without even realizing it!). Unfortunately life has happened and loved ones have passed and as others have said, it really does make you think and maybe change your priorities in life.

Also glad to see you're on Instagram, i've just added you (scottdosborne), easier to keep up to date with your antics on there!

Scott
Hi Scott
Just accepted you on instagram. Always happy to pop down to Alderley village if you’re ever around, I’ll take you on a passenger ride in whatever I’m in at the time. Today I’m mostly in my M2. Sorry to hear about your struggles too, it’s a stty thing isn’t it. Life isn’t fair sometimes.
Drop me a line if you’re ever in the area.

Cheers
Pete
