460hp Lotus Exige V6
Discussion
I’m going to admit to being a member of the ‘more yellow, slightly less wing please’ brigade BUT…
I really came here to say WOW. The quality of the vision and execution is absolutely superb and the choice of wheels, bodywork and interior mods is a second to none.
I also came to say WELL DONE. Plenty of moneyed-up folks throw their wallet at someone else to do the work but seeing George do everything himself (bar the bodywork, painting) in a single garage no less - to be admired.
Great job mate. F@ck me and all the others who are purple-wing-o-phobes, because we couldn’t get within a million miles of something this good on our very best day.

Can't please everyone, I'm 100% happy with how it turned out and wouldn't change anything on it.
The car was pretty standard looking before externally, with some subtle OEM+ mods. I always wanted to make my car more my own look.

If it's not divisive then you aren't doing it right. Enjoy.

On the topic of this George, what do you actually do? There's modified and then there's this...Standard RHD sir?

It's been a while, time for an update...
The car has been brilliant, although a combination of getting older and the roads getting busier, it feels harder to find opportunities to enjoy the performance of the car on the road.
Last year, the gearbox had proven a little problematic every so often, the Quaife LSD no longer locked, and the Clutch was very much on its last legs. This gave me an opportunity to test my Macan's towing abilities, taking the car down to South West Lotus Centre.
I bought a second hand gearbox which was a bit of a risk which luckily paid off, in perfect condition and needing no parts. I then got a Drexler plated LSD from Komotec (in their recommended specs) and SWLC swapped out the original open diff for the plated one.
As I was swapping to a different gearbox, I still don't know what was wrong with the old LSD, but I do know that my old clutch was in several pieces, so I'm glad I didn't leave it any longer.
I've got a few thousand miles under my belt with the Drexler LSD and it has impressed me a lot. First of all, there are no bad noises from it, it's super smooth and just works. Second of all, it has an unbelievable amount of traction. I don't know how, but the car doesn't really slide around like it used to, it just hooks up and throws you down the road. I'd imagine on track it'd be a big difference in lap time. (hopefully I'll find out at some stage!)
Onto my seats. I had Carbon Tillett B6 Screamers in before and they were great, but they are quite a track focused seat and when Tillett let me know they were doing a new seat which is a little bit more road focused, I knew it was a change I wanted to make.
So in went the new Tillett B10 seats, in carbon of course. I had plans to make them a little more unique for my car though...
I really wanted to try a slightly different tint to the rest of my car, so the reflection is purple, but the seat is more carbon looking than purple looking. Ken (the painter) nailed it!
I'm super happy with how they came out, and it's impressive how comfortable they are. 5 hour trip next week will be a good test...

Great update.
Loving the seat colour, if you had not stated it was the colour I would have presumed the purple was the bodywork colour reflecting off the carbon (if you know what I mean)
Drexler LSD’s are a great piece of kit so not surprised you are pleased with the way it drives and hooks up now.
