Please let us know how they drive. I have an Evo 2 and love it, however these two would no doubt be on another lever (or two!) altogether.

Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic cars, excellent choice OP. Always been a big WRC fan and the days of the Lombard RAC and seeing lots of these in action brings back great memories.

Wow what an amazing thread and what an even better investment! Ex works/race cars have to be a stinking place to invest money.

Nice to see they are owned by a WRC fan and clearly have their legs stretched every now and again!

Brilliant, utterly brilliant OP. Best thread in a while.

For me, as a young 'un, very fond memories of Lancia-Martini and Lancia-Alitalia liveried cars; automotive design genius backed by Italian corporate cash.
Stratos, Fiat 131, 037 and Delta S4 (wandered away from rallying after the demise of Group B).

So sad to see what Lancia have become in 2017; a handbag accessory for Milano's selfie obsessed stick-insects.

Epic.

I was in Milano last year for the big RM auction and was able to park my bum in this ex-Sainz / Jolly Club car for a few mins.

Can only imagine how visceral driving one would be.

Still my favourite Chris Harris vid; some of Lancia's rally heroes (no Integrales unfortunately) :

Paolo Andreucci in the 037 :
“It’s very, er, easy in the faster; because we have the weight is a very low".

Broken throttle cable, IIRC. Right before some improbable number of fastest stage times.

I remember watching the Deltas in the Lombard Rally going through Sutton Park as a child - my petrolhead Uncle (sadly no longer alive) was a Lancia & Ferrari dealer & we stood on top of the hospitality unit watching the cars blast past. He had one of the first Martini striped early Lancia Delta HFs as a demonstrator which he drove like a "God" I remember (well at least I thought he did when I was smaller!).

It's good to see the OP is exercising the car & getting it out so fellow enthusiasts can enjoy it thumbup

Thanks again all. I can't wait to get out and use them first will just be some shake down runs on the track.

To clarify TO 13721T was at Shelsey Walsh with the previous owner, I've only had him a couple of months. Am currently going through the car and making it fit me for a start before using it. Will try and get to various events over the next 12 months.

TO 23905P on the other hand needs a bit of work, I've been sourcing parts for the car over the last few months since I bought it. It's not safe at the moment. Things like the Titanium suspension arms, brake calipers etc. The entire exhaust system is Ti for example. The car has had a lot of use and has not been used in anger for about a decade so needs a proper going over.

I'm gagging to drive them both but have to get them sorted before that can happen. I'm a tubby 6ft 3, so I struggle to even get my arse in an Auriol seat so can't really even physically drive 137 yet (!). 905 has a slightly larger seat in it from Dario Cerrato.

Got a stack of parts coming over from Italy this week, so can crack on in earnest.

I've driven 137 for a short distance, and I can say the power, boost and the noise especially from the dog box is something else.

AWESOME wrc car's and an icon of the era... what do/did these put out in normal wrc competition form? as when the wrc rules came in in 97' it was a 300bhp maximum... did these group A machines produce more than that?
