Loved reading through this today. Exactly my kind of build ethic and mods exactly as id choose them.
Never looked a great deal at the little Lupo but this as a cracking example of proper big enjoyment from a little car.

Superb journey, thanks for sharing smile

I have just found this thread and spend an hour reading it all up to date. All I can say is well done and its nice to see Pistonheads being used as it shoud be. Too many people arguing on here these day so its refreshing seeing an enthusiastic chap who's mad about his car sharing his everyday upgrades and trips. Good for you and keep it coming.

Decided to chuck the OZ's on today as it's meant to be decent weather the weekend, interested to see what the AR1's are like with a bit of heat in them. Forgot how good they look on the car!

I'm still unsure what set of wheels I prefer laugh

Managed to rack up a good 150 miles on the AR1's the weekend. Safe to say it was a bit too soon to put them on (i'm so impatient). Couldn't get anywhere near enough temperature in them to get them sticky. I'll swap back to the Michelins for another coulle of months I think .

Fresh set of Brembo HC discs fitted today. Decided to try plain discs as the previous EBC slotted discs lost all the slots very quickly after switched to the Ferodo DS1.11’s.

Grabbed myself a hell of a bargain today, a set of Team Dynamic 1.2’s for £40! The tyres are budgets so they’ll go in the bin. I’ll use them as winter wheels, not sure what tyres i’ll go for yet. Refinished the centre cals as well today as they had seen better days.

Yup, all four haha! One of them has the tiniest curb mark but thats it, otherwise they are mint!

What a bargain!

I looked and thought how small they looked. It’s crazy how our perception of wheel size changes. My first car I actually put on 15” 5 spokes and I’d get comments about having big wheels! This was 26 years ago though!

I remember seeing a golf on 17’s back then and it was literally mind blowing and was the talk of the town amongst us young drivers.

Me and a mate in his B5 S4 went out for a bit of B road driving today. Both cars are built with the same mentality, do things once and do it properly. They couldn't be further apart on paper but both equally as good on the road.

Absolute steal on the TDs dude, don’t look as good as your other wheels, but for £40 quid!!!
Think you’ll find the Brembo HC discs far superior too.
Great update. smile

I agree they aren't as nice as the others but like you say, for 40 quid you can't say no! so far the discs seem great, looking forward to trying them out on track smile

I would like too but unfortunately the Lupo has a different coolant bottle to most VAG cars so it doesn't fit frown

Also forgot to add, went to have my geometry checked before this years track days and i'm glad i did. We found a bent inner tie rod on the nearside, no idea how this has happened. Only thing I can think of is from running ober curbs and rumble strips at the Nurburgring. So I went home and got that sorted, few days later I went back for alignment and all was good. Decided to go for a bit more negative camber and a tiny bit of toe out, after yesterdays drive it felt really good.
