Alex had also contacted me before I sold (and constantly while I owned it!) but he was a couple of grand off what I wanted for it.
Vossens : as far as I can work out Alex fitted them while he had it and sold the OEM 5 spoke wheels with TPMS fitted, then removed the Vossens before advertising the car - he then bought and refurbed another correct OEM set that are now on the car but they didn't come with TPMS.
One big regret - I didn't video the noise! It's one of those cars that you genuinely can't believe you own, if that makes sense. Not the most expensive, not the fastest, but just an amazing car that would always make you smile - even stuck in traffic. With unlimited funds and more undercover space it would still be right here.
It is a great motor. Im doing my absolute best to keep it immaculate whilst enjoying it. All round id say its 95% both mechanically and visually. Most jobs Ive done to it are jobs most people probably wouldn’t even notice. But Im beyond fussy. That charger wine is something else. Cant wait for summer time for
Some pics of my own!

Great read. Thanks.

Am I the only one who thinks the AMG wheels look so much better than the others?
I do like both, but overall oe for me, you can thank Andy for the awesome thread

17 grand on options here - loopy. Headlining was £1180! I'd love to know who ordered it. Probably a footballer frown
Also found out that it was purchased new by a woman. She may well have been a footballer for all we know! Any information other than that appears to be a mystery at the moment.

Had a few small things to do recently... few Parktronic sensors gone down, one front, one rear. Rear can be done in place fronts need bumper removal.

Replaced with genuine Mercedes/Bosch units. so now the Parktronic is all back up and working correctly.

Anyone ever bothered retrofitting an MB digital tv tuner to replace the analogue system?
How did you identify the faulty sensors, did a shop use STAR or have you found a code reader that does it? Need to do some on my S211, but yet to work out which ones. Also interested in the TV tuner update as I have the front and rear screens in mine, so it would be a cool upgrade!

I use a delphi scan tool that i have lying around. Any decent scan tool should be able to scan the parktronic system, it doesn’t need to be star. Launch also do some really good diagnostics with good mercedes coverage.

As far as the tv tuner goes i haven’t got an answer yet. You can add aftermarket digital tv tuners but if i was doing it id want to go down the OE route. Apparently its not as simple as buying a Mercedes digital tuner an plugging it in. When is it ever that simple haha...

Rear diff oil change today. 64,000 miles with no major issues. Various people recommended various oils but after speaking to Mercedes-Benz direct they listed the Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W140 despite being a non P030 Performance Pack car with an open diff.

Really nice easy change 14mm hex socket and ratchet is all that is needed. I also used a torque wrench for the plugs. 1.2L of oil later and its all done. Noticed a few broken handbrake cable securing clips above the propshaft so a trip to Mercedes for the bits and all is sorted.

At the moment its costing more in fuel to run than it is in maintenance and repairs.. winner!

Transmission Service all done, used a genuine MB service kit and did the pilot bushing as well for an extra £13. Reset all the adaptions and gear changes are now effortless. Kompressor oil next. May aswell give it a change for the few quid it costs to do.

Fair play the car is an absolute pleasure to drive, own and work on, but most importantly drive. The noise with the C63 backboxes is absolutely unreal.

Done almost 2k miles in it now and safe to say despite a few niggly bits and pieces its been great, its all worth it to listen to that M113k engine. AMG certainly know how to build a good motor!

Truly stunning motor, did you ever get it on a weighbridge? My E55 with panoramic came in at 1920 kg with just over half a tank.

What did this go for at auction in the end if you don't mind me asking? Cheers
I haven’t weighed mine yet. It sold for £13,600 at auction with all fees paid, the owner at the time Alex (the russian) spent an absolute fortune on it. Andy who started this thread then bought it. Also did a great job of keeping it immaculate. Now I’m going over it again to make it spot on. What an awesome colour in the sun.

ATF was done by MB @ 47k (3rd owner) then Alex did it @ 50k. He didn’t change the pilot bushing or fit the locking tab, so seeing as i had the factory dipstick tool in my toolbox I decided id do it for the few quid it costs.

Did the rear diff oil as Im a strong believer that no oil is “sealed for life”. Nice and easy to do as well on a ramp.

Did the supercharger oil again only because i also had the tools lying round and £16 for a litre of the jet II oil its hardly expensive, I just wanted to see the condition of the oil in a short period.

Did you change the power steering fluid?
Also can you inbox or text me regarding the hidden switch?

Also took it for a good drive seeing as the sun was out today. What a machine. And what a colour in the sun!

Pop these numbers into ebay:

151749526210 - this is the service kit, its actually from MB Edinburgh, its for the 722.6 5 speed transmission. If you message MB they will check by reg/vin if it is correct. £80 for the kit.

121092797988 - This is the “pilot bushing” or the electrical connector for the gearbox, they made 3 revisions of this part due to leaks, this is the current one and is worth doing each time you do the ATF. £13 for the pilot bushing, again genuine parts from MB Newcastle.

Unfortunately i don’t have a part number for the dipstick to hand, as it came as a kit of various service dipsticks for various MB models.

That is literally all the parts you need to do the service. It can be done with a basic socket set. Unless your sad like me and want to use a £450 digital snap on torque wrench

I do like those wheels it had one but it looks better on the OEM ones, modified CLS's soon look a bit naff, not that it did, its just on very safe ground with original AMG ones.

Really lifts it being such an uncommon colour as well, mine was silver, as were 99,998 percent of them.
